Since im pretty sure this is only confirmed in an SBS... i'll talk about it.... Sengoku's Devil Fruit is a Mythological Zoan, the Human-Human Fruit Model Great Buddha. Which makes him the second character we've met so far that has a Mythological Zoan, the rarest kind of fruit that we know off (first one was Hugo), and also the second character we've met who has a Human-Human Fruit (the first one obviously being Chopper). Also... is thanks to episodes like this that Garp is my second favorite character in all of One Piece, he's so layered. And hey.... reaching 500 episodes is a big thing indeed, you're almost at the middle point of the anime (the EXACT middle point right now would be episode 577), and since the One Piece anime is gonna be Seasonal from 2026 onwards.... you'll have even more time to catch up. Only 673 more episodes until you finish Season 1 of One Piece xddddddddddd.

Shortly after Chopper joined, in SBS manga volume 20, which covers episode 110-115, Oda got asked what would happen if a human were to eat the human-human fruit and he replied: "I suppose I should say they "BECOME HUMAN". Uh, I guess you could say that means like becoming an adult, or finding your true spirit or something. So basically, people will live more human-like. Well. I guess you could say that. Or not. Basically, not. Goodbye. (runs away)." It's interesting to see this response which sounds like a description of Buddha himself. Might've been a foreshadowing for Sengoku all along or that's when Oda got the idea to include that fruit some day.

Yes, I was smirking a little when you theorized that Mr. 3 was one of the guards and then discounted it. I actually thought you might've caught on when Luffy knocks them all out, since there's a pretty clear shot of 3's distinctive mustache as he falls over. :P
