These 4 episodes are without a doubt, in my opinion, the absolute peak of the show thus far. Of course, quite a few stretches later get close to this level, but nothing has ever topped these for me.

Hugo is saying.... "It's impossible for average people, that's sure. But Teach is a little different as you guys know. His body structure is irregular compared to common people's. That's why he was able to do it" He's being very vague about it (typical of Oda) but he doesn't mention the Dark-Dark Fruit. Now.... we obviously can't discard the possibility of him using the Dark-Dark power to somehow absorb another Devil Fruit from inside Whitebeard's body...... but since we didn't see anything that happened under the carpet... anything is possible. But i think what we can say for certain is that.... the reason he's able to withstand two Devil Fruits without his body exploding (as it was explained in Enies Lobby) is because of what Hugo mentioned about his body being somehow different than the average person, althought we don't know what that difference is. And in regards to the Arc as a whole.... im sure im in the minority here, but personally... i don't think Marineford is above Water 7, above Enies Lobby perhaps.... but the writing on Water 7 on a premise and character level was something else. Marineford in contrast is a lot messier, very epic for sure... and emotional... but with so many moving parts and characters... the story felt quite messy and "spread out" if that makes sense (at least in my opinion). Is not a bad arc by any means.... but it's not one of my favorites.

Also... i just rewatched episodes 490 and 491, and althought they're not Marineford arc perse.... they are indeed canon. You should include them in your next session, so it would be 5 episodes instead of just 3. That way you can begin the next arc (episode 493) more smoothly. That's my suggestion at least.
