Here is my full length unedited reaction for She-Ra 3X3!

I honestly think I get something new out of this episode every time I watch it. Catra is probably my favorite character ever, and her reaction to finding out that Shadow Weaver is in Bright Moon is such an extremely realistic depiction of what it's like to be deeply triggered/have a trauma response to something that connects fundamentally to your core, and you so rarely see stuff like that (so complex and layered) in kid's shows, but also just from women across all forms of media imho. People do kind of expect women to be the perfect victim. Does it excuse her actions? Of course not! But it makes her so interesting and I actually love her more for it. She's such a special character specifically because this show doesn't shy away from the fact that often, things like childhood trauma (especially related to sustained abuse from a guardian or parental figure and abandonment), CPTSD, BPD (both of those are disorders that I suspect Catra to be coded as having, whether subtextually or implicitly, I think both arguments can be made), etc. are just ugly and messy. And showing her as a sympathetic character who is ALSO doing bad things and hurting people and those two things co-existing I think is just so awesome to see. It's way easier for people to watch a story where everything is very black and white, but She-Ra blurs those lines so well and that's what makes it so well-written. It's actually REAL. Anyway, there's my TedTalk for the day. Great video!

"This season's been nothing but major lore drops" -- absolutely. This season is when the show really hits its stride, and it only gets better as it goes at this point.

Hello from YT (I see I've got tons of catching up to do!) I'm SO happy you continued watching, seeing people react to this show for the first time is a treat, since I can't re-watch it anew for myself. IMHO, season 3 is where it starts ramping up.. and the ramping never really stops! S5 is my favourite but the last 3 eps of S3 make me feel some things! 😭
