I love Bojack's irritation with Diane here, I really feel it shows how close they've grown - could you imagine him reacting like this in season 1? Caring that she's acting weird? Not jumping on the opportunity to take advantage of her? They've really come so far.

Diane noticing her own surname everywhere is just because Nguyen is by far the most common Vietnamese surname. Of course Stefani's line delivery was perfect in that one line you noted, because she's voiced by Kimiko Glenn who's great in everything- including smaller roles in shows you have reactions to like this or Hazbin Hotel, but definitely checkout Centaurworld where she's the lead and gets to show off her fantastic singing range.

Outside of the opening strum of the closing credits, that two-note Tesuque, NM theme is maybe the most traumatizing riff in TV history.

This show has mirrored my life more than I care to admit. When this season came out in late 2018, I was literally in the midst of my separation/divorce. This episode hit me so hard. That was exactly how I felt. You don't want the relationship back because it was no longer a good one, but you grieve for the relationship you once had.
