I agree with Therapy Horse, Bojack didn't know his life he made assumptions. I never noticed until i originally watched this episode that bojack had no horse friends i was like woe.

I just adore this episode. The realization that Bojack really doesn't know anything about Doctor Champ's life, tried to help him, and just messed up and had to as you say take it on the chin. The acknowledgement that all of Todd's silly shenanigans wouldn't fly if he wasn't white. And yeah, the return of Judah! Love that guy.

I don't know that BoJack did mess up. I never thought it was fair that Doctor Champ blamed him instead of taking responsibility for his own actions and decisions. He could tell that was vodka. He chose to go to the bar. He was back on the bad path and sending him to rehab was probably the right decision, even though it didn't stick and Doctor Champ resented him for it. (I know Mikey is far enough along that that's not a spoiler.)

2026-09-27 22:00 BoJack's animators were non Union until Spring of 2019, after they staged a walkout. Netflix chose to cancel the show not long after. Coincidence...? (I think they said it wasn't related at the time but always seemed sus to me.)
