I love this bit of backslide from Dianne, like, yeah she was starting to get better! But it's not a straight line, you still get dips back into bad, but she managed to get out and get better!

Very well said at the end about liking BoJack as a character without excusing his actions.

I love this episode and episode 8 because they directly call out how wrong Bojack was when he fought with Diane last season. He said, "most of these women probably don't even remember me, but I remember them... I'm the one who has suffered the most from the actions of Bojack Horseman." We knew that was bullshit, but we hadn't yet seen the consequences of his actions on all the women he hurt throughout the show (who are still alive). Kelsey was black listed from the industry for years, Gina's professional image is spiraling due to her unresolved trauma and she may lose all future opportunities, Penny is still dealing with the trauma Bojack inflicted on her, Hollyhock is struggling with anxiety attacks while trying to have a healthy relationship with alcohol. Sarah Lynn is DEAD. Now, that most heinous injustice is the domino that is unraveling all of Bojack's fuck-ups. Bojack suffered trauma, and he has suffered with the guilt of his transgressions, but he still gets to come out in a privileged position. He always had his money, his fame, and the yes-man of Princess Carolyn in his ear. He had the opportunity to go to a luxurious rehab FOR MORE THAN 6 MONTHS and come out a better man. He had the opportunity to become a college professor! I do believe in rehabilitation being the goal of the justice system, but his victims have never had a chance to say what justice he deserves. He has never had to face their judgement and be held accountable in the way they see fit. Just as he deserves to become a better person, they deserve to have a choice in what happens to him. When he decided to spread his pain and suffering to hundreds of other people in his downward spiral of a life, he gave them the right to have a say in how he climbs back up. He doesn't get to just leave them behind and never face consequences for that. This is the first time in his life, it seems, that those chickens have come home to roost. Karmically appropriate that it happens right when he genuinely made a change and got better. This is the test: can he handle the consequences of his actions and still hold true to his changed self, or will he go back to whats comfortable and familiar? Will he finally face the music, or will he cower away just as he always has?

I really love the animation used to depict Diane's inner dialogue.
