We didn't see him tell peanutbutter that, but he does have a long history of telling people shit while drunk and forgetting it.

Watching Diane and P.C. debating the way to handle this situation reminds me of the trope where a protagonist has an angel on one shoulder and the devil on the other.

The likely event was during "Stupid Piecce of Shit" when Mr.PB helped find the baby doll.

It's very disappointing seeing BoJack immediately lie about everything to the reporters, but I think when you've been a pathological liar for as long as he has that's going to be his first instinct in the moment even if he's been genuinely trying to be better about that since rehab. At least sometimes now he's able to talk himself into doing the right thing in situations he never would have seriously considered it before. It is also really sad that he didn't even list any of the things he's done to Todd over the years, even though Todd rightly calling him out on his shit was a big part of what drove him to go on the bender that got Sarah Lynn killed in the first place. Even though Mr. Peanutbutter is entirely in the wrong for the root causes of the issues in his and Pickles' relationship, he handled things very maturely at the end of this episode. As you noted, great acting from Paul F. Tomkins.
