I think this was a better balance between Boba and Mando stuff but he still didn't feel like the focus in this episode 😂 So much happened and I'm still trying to process everything but they really included the perfect Villain for Boba to go up against!!

Honestly Book of Boba Fett feels like an interlude for the Mandalorian or a Mandalorian season 2.5. Boba Fett suffered a lot because of so many big players drawing attention away. Even though I wish Boba got more attention, I can’t deny these two episodes were absolutely phenomenal. It excited me more than the actual series unfortunately. Getting to see the beginnings of Luke’s academy and his relationship with Ahsoka was A tier Star Wars. At this point I think Ahsoka and Luke have known each other for 2-3 years, as Ahsoka’s return to the galaxy at the turn of the tide (Emperor’s defeat) is a lot like Gandalf’s return. I think the reason Ahsoka took so much time to actually go after Thrawn is because of Luke, I believe a lot of Ahsoka and Luke’s journeys happen before this and this is almost like a temporary farewell for the two. I do find it interesting how Ahsoka seems to be a mentor figure to Luke as he rebuilds the order. I think because Ahsoka doubts a lot of the teachings Anakin passed down due to his ultimate fall, she relies on a lot more of the traditional Jedi teachings and the Jedi code. You mention Ahsoka still struggling with the events of S2 of Rebels and that’s very accurate, I think it’s going to be constant struggle until she learns to confront it. Luke never got to experience the Order in its fullest so I imagine a lot of Luke’s Jedi Order knowledge comes from her and the tomes he’s found along the way. This is why they’re so against attachments and are really clinging to tradition. Also definitely agree with your assessment of Boba vs Cad Bane! There was so much emphasis on Cad Bane being this big surprise that they couldn’t really fully dive into his past relationship with Boba. In the Clone Wars the two end up dueling during one of the lost arcs from season 6 that was never fully animated, and it’s still considered canon as Boba’s dent in his helmet is actually from Cad Bane. I wish they dived more into this. This episode was a great jumping off point for so many characters! Mando joining with Boba, Ahsoka is officially off on her journey to stop Thrawn, Luke is busy rebuilding the Order, and Grogu ends up making the choice that defines his future. Dave Filoni never disappoints when it comes to classic characters and lore!

Exactly this! It doesn’t feel like Boba Fett’s own show but rather a filler for what’s in between Mandalorian, it’s such a shame as this could have been handled far better with all these big characters like how Ahsoka was used before. I feel the exact same way 😂 these last two episodes were amazing and it’s just sad that they’ve been the best episodes so far yet have barely anything to do with Boba. Loved seeing Luke’s stuff and how he’s story is continuing after so long, and his interactions with Ahsoka was just so much fun to see! I definitely want to see far more of these two together even if it means going into the past of the last few years to see how they meet, how they realise their connections to Anakin, and what it would have been like for both of them finding another Jedi in the galaxy. While the attachment stuff frustrates me to no end 😂 I can completely understand how it’s returned, Anakin went against all that stuff and he failed, Ahsoka now sees everything Anakin did as leading to this failure and now refuses to repeat it. Her being a mentor to Luke is so cool as it’s almost like his father teaching him since Ahsoka learnt everything from him, but I still hope we get to see some differences in how Luke’s order will teach as it grows with all the old stuff gone. Cad Bane being here is absolutely awesome, but it would have been so much more impactful if he got to do more, his connection to Boba is so deep and they have so much history that all they needed to do was have a flash back of Bane mentoring Boba at some point to lay the groundwork. Also wish this lost arc was incorporated more as I firmly believe that’s where Boba got his dent from as that could have been the perfect thing to showcase another aspect of Boba’s growth. This episode as a whole was fantastic and they way it handled so many big characters was so amazing to see and makes me so excited for the future of all of them!
