Moff Gideon returns, and I have to say he looks so awesome! Can't believe the twist that happens in this episode, but at least the Mandalorians have a clear goal that once fulfilled, will mean they truly have their planet back!

Thankfully this Episode was great! & made me forget about most stuff in the last episode, I'm relieved that was just a one off & didn't carry over to this one, I can imagine they sobered up after that & went full serious with this one 😂😂 So good that things ramped up again and it got grander! So much happened and now we got a good set up for the Final Episode. And thankfully Moff Gideon is finally back & taken over as the Villain 😈 yeah I agree that it definitely could've been sooner and that was a big criticism of this season, but I guess it's better late than never 😂 And starting off this Ep we finally get to see the "Shadow Council" on Screen for the first time which is awesome. Those of us that had Read the books were already familiar with it's existence but this was our first proper look at it on full display & in session, and seeing Moff Gideon apart of it makes it even cooler. Yeah it's crazy to think that "appearing" as disorganized individual Warlords running around fighting a lost cause is the intention they're going for so the New Republic misses what they're really doing, quite ingenious actually! A couple other notable members in the Shadow Council you saw were Captain Pelleaon (the old man going on about Thrawn) You first met him way back in Tales Of The Empire when he stayed behind in Morgan's meeting to chat with her then meet up with her later on Corvus & that's when Thrawn came in, he's his Right hand Man. Then the other one was Commandant Hux (the one who gave Gideon the Praetorian guards & was overseeing Project Necromancer) I won't say much else yet cause that's spoiler territory but "Hux" is a name to remember going forward lol. But yeah hearing them Talk about Thrawn & his "eventual" return is chilling his name has such Power, but I just love that no one seems to know his whereabouts I doubt even Pallaeon knows, and because of that us audience don't know either but that makes the whole mystery around his disappearance & absence even more exciting. Even when we had Ahsoka ask Morgan where Thrawn was we never saw her answer because it cutaway so that makes us think does she not even know or does she?! Like Where the heck is Thrawn?! Someone better give me some answers arghh!!! 😬😬🤣🤣 Honestly your reactions have been quite fun to watch 😂 just you seeing all these things for the first time and not knowing what's on the horizon like we did watching this for the first time because a lot of what was said in that meeting we already had a good picture of, again really loving this order you're going in! Grogu actually getting IG-11 as a "vehicle" is definitely funny but also mixed feelings as yeah it does feel kinda like a corpse 😂 so I try not to think about it that way. As soon as Grogu started saying "Yes. No." my first reaction right away was "Oh no... what have they done. 😨." They've given him the Ultimate Power of Speech that he will most definitely abuse 🤣🤣 Seeing the Mandalorians finally come together and go take back Mandalore feels so grand and satisfying, it had been a long time coming, I do really like how there was awkward tension at first because you of course expect that but they slowly did unite. But dangit Turns out Gideon was hiding on Mandalore the Entire time doing all this and now we're getting a much clearer picture of his End goal, combining aspects of Cloning, Jedi & Mandalorian stuff into One Army to take over & restore order to the galaxy is kinda crazy and makes sense now looking back at all the hints & things we've got from him, Your theory about him wanting to become the new "Darth Vader/Emperor" seems very apparent now 😂 And yeah Sadly we lost Paz this Episode 😭 Dangit why does Star Wars always make us love characters just so it hurts more when they kill them off?! It's cruel!! But what an awesome way to go out though, as you put it going out Protecting Bo & all the other Mandalorians is such an honorable thing to do and the annoying part is it looked like he was gonna make it until the Praetorians came in and finished the job 😔 Yep so you're not far off, Praetorian guards are basically what's left of the "Emperor's guard" except they've been repurposed & rebranded since there's no Emperor anymore 🤣 and they now have New Armor & Weapons, and as much as I hate them for Killing Paz they are kind of bad*ss lol and their entrance combined with that Choir theme was menacing, you knew as soon as they entered it was serious. You'll see them again in the future since this wasn't their first appearance on screen for us but it is in chronological order lol. Anyways hopefully our Guys can retake this place in the Final Episode next & defeat Moff Gideon 😬 it's gonna be one tough fight I bet though so can't wait for that!

For some of us fortunate enough to be at Star Wars Celebration London in 2023, they screened this episode about a week earlier than it came out on Disney+ and we were asked to keep everything that happened a secret. Given there were some Paz cosplayers at the event who we kept bumping into, you really felt rather sorry them knowing their character had just died (but they didn’t know it yet)! Watching the episode with a whole room full of people was great: the continuous Grogu button pressing got a big laugh, but I really liked the way that what had been funny then became serious when he stopped the fight. A solid episode to set us up for the finale… NB this isn’t the first appearance of the Praetorian Guards, but you’ll eventually see them!

I’m still quite shocked at how well they recovered from the last episode, it really had no bearing on anything in the story and seems to be completely forgotten about, and the show can return to great quality 😂 I think this episode did a really good job at setting up the final after how much time got wasted with episode 6, Gideon definitely should have been brought in sooner but thankfully as soon as he shows up, he really just seals the spotlight! The Shadow council is such a cool idea, and I love how it was portrayed here! I can’t even call the New Republic too stupid for missing it since it really is quite a genius move, if only the Republic had investigated more, they may have found it but the excuse to not bother with small warlords is pretty convincing. Nice to see Palleaon here and get that connection with Thrawn, I think I remember him as I always think he’s Yularen with his moustache, and cool to think something else is being set up here with Commandant Hux. Hearing them talk about Thrawn through blind faith was so interesting, there really see him as their saving grace and have so much hope in his eventual return even though there’s not even whispers of his whereabouts. You’re so right about the mystery this is building around him as I have no clue how he can come back but I’m so excited, it feels like the anticipated return of a deity with how they talk about it and honestly, I think Thrawn could back it up with what he’s capable of 😂 😂 I could not love the order I’m watching more!! It’s been so much fun seeing the story evolve like this and honestly, I keep forgetting that as I’m talking and saying stuff, that when this was first watch, there’s a good chance other things were out which added to what’s being said here which I haven’t seen yet. Grogu with IG-11 is such a nightmare combination but I love that that’s where the plot line went 🤣 I’ve gotten past the whole corpse angle now but hearing Grogu communicate like this makes it so worth it, he’s already incredible mischievous and now he can take it to a whole new level! Seeing the Mandalorians unite was so awesome, loved how much time they gave it and showing off the tension being felt between everyone and then eventually getting to watch them come together as a people behind their best leader and a common goal. The twist of Gideon being on Mandalore this entire time is just insane and so well done!! Like this whole time the planet hasn’t been cursed or uninhabitable, that was just a lie told by the Empire to keep the Mandalorians off. Then getting Gideon’s end goal after so long is both satisfying and horrifying!! He truly wants to take Palpatine’s place with these kinds of ideas but I do wonder how close he’s gotten by now and if we can see some of the end results, Cloning with the Force seems like the most difficult component which even Necromancer failed to do as he already has the Mandalorian part down. I’m still not over Paz’s death!! It’s so beyond cruel but Star Wars does it so well! This whole season did such great character work with him only to rip him away, but he went out in the best way possible, dying protecting his fellow Mandalorians, and he certainly took out his fair share of Dark Troopers in the process. These Guards are annoyingly really cool 😔 Like their weapon I’m sure managed to go through Paz’s Beskar so they’re definitely a force to be reckoned with and now I’m wondering how many are under the control of the Imperial Remnants, feels like we’re only scratching the surface of the forces they possess. Can’t wait to see what the final has in story but at least this gave them some great motivation, they definitely can’t let Paz’s sacrifice be in vain!

This sounds so amazing and it’s so cool that you got to go to this event! I feel so bad for the Paz cosplayers though 😬 😂 but it’s really nice to know that quite a few people then got so attached to this character over the course of the season to actually dress up as him compared to the other more main characters. I can imagine how much fun everyone would have had with Grogu communicating for the first time 🤣 love how it’s used for laughs as when he gets serious it carries so much weight. Can’t wait to see the final now with how this sets everything up, Mandalorians have been united, Grogu has the power of speech and now they should have more fight than ever to not let Paz’s sacrifice be in vain!
