Thanks for Letting Me Share | Episode 5: Interview with Shayfer James
Shayfer James and I are not friends and we do not like each other. However, y'all said yes when I asked if y'all would want to hear me interview any other artists I know, and unfortunately I know Shayfer James. I wish I could un-know him. But unfortunately we cannot undo the past. It will forever loom over us like storm clouds crashing down on withering horizons. Don't you understand? There is no past, only a present that drags our wreckage behind us into an inevitable future; assembling it by way of a fatal architecture designed by the irrevocable misfortune of our selves. It is undeniable. We will be what we were, and forever. Shayfer sucks.
He has returned from The Desert with a new single on August 28th called The Desert.
Anyway he's one of my favorite people ever and I wanted to hang out and catch up anyway so he let me interview him about his upcoming album. We talk about his trip out to 29 Palms to immerse himself in the creative process, my trip to Disney World to immerse myself in a terrifying bathtub, the weird toxic romanticization of suffering that is endemic to artists, and how we tick creatively and professionally. Then we just compliment each other a bunch.
I still plan to do some other types of episodes as well, I don't plan to have a guest on every episode, but Let me know if you enjoyed this and if there's anyone else you'd like to hear me interview. I can't promise I can get anyone, my deepest industry connections are in the one time I was able to take a selfie with Weird Al, but I'm down to send a couple emails to a couple other niche weirdos.
Thanks for tuning in, thanks for letting me share my implausibly young father who I despise Shayfer James.
Yours Truly,ww
