This special episode was so amazing! It was definitely a love letter for us fans. Having been a One Piece fan for nearly 20 years seeing this new perspective on the War of the Best really hits so different. I enjoyed how the Strawhats affected people's lives in different ways, just paints them in such an overwhelming positive light. This episode came in at just the right time. Glad you enjoyed this. See you at Fishman Island :)

Megumi Ishitani (who directed this) also directed a few episodes of One Piece you'll get to later on, so you've got those to look forward to. She's kinda goated honestly

Right-Hand Man

This was truly an eye-opening experience for anyone who’s seen OP up to this point. We see it from the perspective of our crew but never from side characters, the “normal” day to day people in the world. It is refreshing and exciting and one of the things I really love about this episode is the fandom and appreciation for our crew. Excellent episode all around 😎

There's tons of little details and references to spot in this special, you'll likely need to re-watch it several times to catch everything. Fan Letter was such an instant hit and beloved by the entire fandom. I'm glad it's something that new fans can watch right as they enter the time-skip.

I’ve watched this so many times I’ve honestly lost count, and the scene where the older brother is gonna run away and leave but then it goes silent and you hear “I’m your brother!” and he locks in after hearing it, GETS ME EVERY TIME. Maybe it’s because I’m an older brother to 3 sisters, but as soon as I hear Luffy say that, the tears start flowing 😭 my love for this show will never end haha

SomeoneElse

The guy turned around to save his brother only because he heard Luffy's voice shout for Ace 😭 such a powerful moment! A soldier running into danger to save his own brother, motivated by the cries of his enemy. I wept at that moment the first time I watched this episode 😭😭

Welcome to modern One Piece Katy! And who better to show you what modern One Piece looks like then its best director, Megumi Ishitani. Shes fairly new to the series and has only directed 3 canon episodes but each one is cinema.

The chopper fan boy really gets me giggling

SirVampyr

The best singular episode of One Piece for me. Animation, direction, emotion - peak. Absolute peak. Very special to me too, since it takes me back to when I was in school when Marineford first aired q_q But you said everything I could comment - it's so amazing to see the viewpoint of normal people and how vast this world is. Such an amazing episode! ...also crying every time I see this episode.

Omg I can’t believe I’m just now watching this. I totally forgot to watch it when I subbed here on Patreon lol but yeah. As some said in the comments. This is pretty much the current animation! You’ll be there by the end of this year! 🤞🏼
