I TOTALLY feel the same about religion. I also grew up Catholic. And I was very much in the faith and participated in youth groups and every VBS I could. Went to Catholic school for ten years. Went to public HS and slowly stopped attending mass, but still did youth group. My parents said I still had to go until I was 18. I think my last Sunday mass I attended was when I was still in HS. I do feel the same about the music and the like. I don't think I had a specific moment, but I had two moments that made me question. Both were people who did an ambush-style "Do you want to talk about religion?" Thing. And both times I just felt so talked down to, despite being in the faith still. And I just remember feeling guilty and judged. And I remember that I didn't like feeling that way and I didn't want to be a part of a group that made someone else feel that way. I didn't leave then, but within the next few years.
