I was highly concerned by whatever this dark day meant but it totally makes sense. with how much I love Luke, I really enjoy seeing the flaws in his character as well so I thoroughly enjoyed this episode from that aspect, but also PARIS THIS EP WAS EVERYTHING. 🩶

The end scene with Richard is easily my favorite moment of his.

Iconic doesn’t even begin to cover the prank wars between Rory and Logan in this episode lol. While Logan’s one in the classroom was probably too much for me because I got second-hand embarrassed, I really enjoyed seeing Rory getting her revenge on him with Richard. It was such a cute and fun little grandfather and granddaughter moment. Logan’s face at the end of it was priceless too 🙈 Oh, and I also really love how she calls him a “butt-face miscreant” because the way he says it too in such horror makes him sound a wee bit British 🤭 (this quote from Finn is absolutely legenderary, by the way… it’s just so memorable and one of those lines that you just can’t forget: “DAMN IT, GILMORE! GIVE THEM BACK THEIR BALLS.”) I always get so giddy whenever this episode comes on. It’s probably one of my personal favorites and Logan really does bring out a more fun side of Rory. It’s such mindless entertainment, even if there’s a time and a place for these things, of course… but like we can’t forget about Paris speed-dating, which wasn’t on my bingo card at all. Still, I love that it resulted in her and Doyle. More to come with those two, so don’t you worry, friend! I’m honestly kind of obsessed with them too, so you’re not alone there 👀

I would imagine sending under-aged kids to spend a few days at a college, must be a liability issue... especially for an overnight stay!!! The kid could go home under the influence of drugs or alcohol, or hungover, or with an STD, or pregnant! Once they are 18, only they suffer the consequences, but kids under 18 are another story! I know some kids turn 18 their senior year of high school, but some don't. I didn't turn 18 until 6 months after I graduated high school!

I love this episode! And I'm still only in the middle of your reaction so I don't know if you say later but it's so weird to me that no one in the town put together it's the day Luke's dad died? His dad lived in the town most or all of his life until he passed.

I also love the dynamic between Lorelai and Kirk (just a short scene in this one, but there are many examples). I always feel like they genuinely like each other, and Lorelai knows how to handle him, while also being respectful, if that makes sense.

I love this episode. Not only do we get some deeper moments with Luke and Lorelai, but I laughed out loud a good number of times rewatching this one with you. I think everybody's comedic delivery was fantastic this episode Also, Paris and Doyle! It just makes so much sense. And God, maybe the bar was just really low after she dated a senior citizen but I think Paris and Doyle have great chemistry together

I didn't say it in my reaction but I did think that when Miss Patty first mentioned the dark day. my immediate reaction was his dad dying but I didn't say anything bc I was like wellllll surely, everyone would know the day or at least an idea of the time in the year that his dad died. apparently not 😆

EXACTLY! I was like WHATRE WE DOING!? we can't possibly be mad at a college student for losing a high school student. that shouldn't ever be anything more than a tour around the school during the day and then the high schooler goes home. spending the weekend is bonkers
