karen BROKE me this episode. watching her emotions and Lucas sit there stone faced and choose dan has filled me with such anger towards him. I don't care what dan has hanging over you, to watch your mother who you love and care about going through that devastation and not coming clean right there is wild to me. I love Peyton and Jake, SO MUCH. I also loved the time capsule aspect of this episode!! 🩶

Karen slayed when she told Lucas to call Dan to get them out of jail like that’s what you get for what you did !!! That reveal at the end with his true intentions made up for it… I think. Actually? I’m still not sure (even if I remember being gagged my first time), but my heart is breaking for Karen. When she cries, I cry!! It’s the same thing as when Lorelai on Gilmore Girls cries because we all cry with her too 😭😭 (mothers are just a very sensitive topic for me as you know ☹️)

Lucas Scott gives great advice every once in a while and telling Nathan to love Haley when she's a lesser version of herself feels pretty noteworthy I wish Felix was always like the one we saw in this episode. If then, at least he'd just be a boring forgettable love interest and not a jackass who deserves an uppercut from the entire main cast Ughhhhhh and that ending with Whitey will never fail to make me bawl

At the end of the day he’s just a kid who has seen this man hurt everyone he loves (and has been hurt by him himself) and just wants to help them. And he doesn’t want anyone trying to stop him, and he knows Karen would try if she knew the truth because she’d never want him to put himself through that for her or anyone.

Yeah it’s confusing the Naley situation and I can see the disconnect. Like pre-Naley Nathan, that man was an awful partner to say the least (lol) when he dated Peyton for years and he would cheat on her constantly, such as the pilot episode when he stole the bus and kissing that girl. But obviously him and Haley are married and they love each other (Nathan and Peyton weren’t in love) and they made a commitment to each other so it’s different. So kissing Chris was wrong and the prolonged lying about it, but then I remember that Nathan is Haley’s first ever boyfriend (and kiss probably) as she’s inexperienced, so it probably was confusing when Chris initiated that first kiss on her, then she goes back to the bus station and she’s the one that initiated the second one to IDK maybe feel if something might be there, but ultimately realizes shes in love with Nathan and is just jealous of Chris being able to pursue the shared dream. IDK. It’s such a complicated situation with the music thing and tour. I truly believe Haley left because of following the music opportunity and not Chris (which is what Nathan would rightfully think since she was hiding the kiss from him). Every character is going to have their worst moments and up to this point Haley had been the most reliable and consistently good person, so like Lucas eluded to Nathan to give her some grace when shes a lesser human sometimes. Gosh teenage marriage sure is confusing at 16/17, so I don’t hate Haley for going to follow her dream, they are both so young, but idk the communication needs to be better while being away so Nathan can feel reassured and loved, like maybe a text that says “love you” or “thinking of you”. Everyone’s love lives are a MESS this season. At least Peyton and Jake are happy and I guess Brooke but PLEASE LEAVE FELIX haha. And then poor Karen about Lucas but at least she has Andy who’s super sweet and supportive. Dan is still an ass for what he’s doing, especially to Keith and blackmailing Jules, but that girls gotta say something before someone else does. God all these characters lives would be so much better if they just communicated with one another, but then shows wouldn’t be as entertaining so…I guess it’s fine. (Sorry for long comment)
