There was something deeply emotional about seeing the people of Wano finally look up at the sky without fear. After twenty years of slavery, hunger, executions, and hopelessness, the fire festival that once existed only to mourn the dead suddenly became a celebration of freedom again. But the scene that really stayed with me was Momonosuke standing before the people and declaring himself the shogun of Wano. Not because he sounded fearless, but because you could still hear the fear and pain in his voice. Beneath the body of a grown man is still just a child who lost his parents and had the burden of an entire country forced onto his shoulders. We watched him spend so long crying, doubting himself, and trying to run from responsibility, so seeing him finally stand tall for his people gave me that heavy feeling in my chest and stomach right before tears come out. It felt earned. And then Tama’s scene made that feeling even stronger. Watching her remember her childhood — losing her parents, starving, living alone, and surviving only because Tenguyama Hitetsu took care of her — reminded you how cruel Wano’s reality really was. Tama always kept smiling no matter how much pain she carried, so when she finally hears that the battle is over and breaks down crying, it feels like years of suffering finally pouring out all at once. That moment felt painfully human. And what makes it even more emotional is realizing how long we’ve walked beside these characters. From Punk Hazard to Dressrosa, Zou, and all the way through Wano, Oda slowly built every sacrifice, every promise, every tear. So when the people of Wano finally smile again, it doesn’t feel like we’re just watching a victory. It feels earned. Like we suffered alongside them to finally reach the dawn they waited twenty years for.

It’s crazy that when you think back this all started in Fishman island with Luffy first challenging Big Mom and then the alliance with Law in Punk Hazard to provoke a conflict between Doflamingo and Kaido. This is a culmination of every arc since the start of post timeskip so we really are getting a conclusion to a 500 episode conflict

Correct, it just takes away their ability to swim it’s the not being able to breath under water that would kill them…we saw Jack sink to the bottom of the Ocean but because he’s part Fishman he can still breathe under water but his devil fruit still takes away his ability to swim, also Kaido can survive underwater because Dragons can breathe underwater but he still wouldn’t be able to swim.

Don’t worry Heather, I am ugly crying too!! Also I LOOOOVEEEEE that Nami is the one holding Tama, because Nami knows exactly how Tama feels. Nami also had her parent die as a result of a tyrant who took over their land, and Luffy saved them by saying they were his friend and by saving and liberating their homes. He changed everything for them. It’s very fitting and poetic, since more than any of the other straw hats Nami knows how Tama feels.

Honestly I forgot how amazing these episodes are , and it is still great to watch them for the 3rd time just for the reminder, Without a doubt the best story ever told and if anyone will disagree i will tell em what spongebob said to squidward "the only people who dont like a krabby patty have never tasted one" same for me at one piece , However I still see that you can't digest that there are more chapters to the saga, so let me remind you something that happend in every arc of onepiece that Luffy was the hero of some Island😊 , Saga will never be ended before Luffy will heal a bit and have a big banquet 🎉sometimes there are some more small detalis that can change the vibe for good and to set you up for the next arc , Enjoy the next episodes i can tell you gonna love them❤️

And yes I was sobbing all over again with you Heather. Oda knows how to hit you in the feels, and emotions. Twisting that knife in giving us the small backstories of Toko and Tama and all they have been through from just young kids. Wano is something special and the fact that some of the OP fandom disliked this whole arc! Is crazy, insane! I love Wano so much and the animation is just gorgeous again for something so simple as Cherry Blossom petals falling! And the OP theme music redone as an String piece is *chefs kiss* I have the OP soundtrack up there with the LOTRs trilogy music hearing and HP and some others. In the way of I hear each sections of the score and I'll ball my bloody eyes out due to knowing what scene it's from from the movies and from this show. That's how I know when a movie is great or a show is the score, and having the music swell, and crescendo down and yet i'm still crying. Granted Op has trained me to sob and crying with the OP soundtrack and songs! <3 <3

My favorite detail with the Luffy awakening was he only did it once the people of Wano sent their prayer lanterns up above into the sky where once their hopes and prayers reach luffy he has fully awakened his god fruit, writing is good! its going to be a bittersweet day when you become one piece contemporaries with us I cant wait

It's always sad to think of Tama and Toko's back stories. I tear up anytime I see it. Momonosuke and Hyori though...my heart hurts for Hyori having to grow up within the 20 years, but at least she had time to grieve for her parents. For Momonosuke it was a mere couple of months that he lost his parents. He was put in such an impossible situation for an 8 years old.

How come for some reason when we were remembering yasuie-dono, I had a flash of MLK Jr.’s face…also, I don’t think his death would have the same impact or lasting impact to those left behind if he was still alive. It would be nice if Otoko still has her dad, but there are sacrifices in war that we can never get back. Wano is one of my fave arcs from animation, story, action and emotional impact, and the pay off…20 years of suffering finally over…what an amazing arc!

*cracks knuckles* Ok guys....it's time for me to tell you how to pronounce zunesha is said as zoo-knee-sha. Technically it should be zoo-neh-sha but in japanese zunesha in japanese is written as ズニーシャ which would be written as zuneesha. The line in the middle means the vowel is longer so instead of ne it would be said as nee...I guess it is said like knee but it is confusing because in japanese ni is said like knee. I watched an episode where they say zunesha's name and I thought it was zoo-ne sha but nope..it's zoo-knee-sha. That's pretty rare because in japanese 99% of words are phonetic.

If you remember, SMILEs are artificial Zoan-type Devil Fruits that only succeed 10% of the time, permanently fusing consumers with animal parts (e.g., lion stomachs, gazelle legs). For me, Miura(Berserk), Togashi(Hunter x Hunter & YYu Hakusho) and Oda are the undisputed top three mangaka of all time. I constantly cycle through how I would rank them, and artistically, I usually put the creators of Berserk and Hunter x Hunter over One Piece. However, looking at the bigger picture, Oda's unmatched consistency changes everything. The fact that Oda never stopped making manga while the other two faced massive gaps really puts him in that definitive number one spot. That said, Araki(JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure) belongs up there with them too these four definitely make up the Mount Rushmore of battle manga.
