I love the symbolism of them showing the ants while talking about itadori/the group over an individual. Ants are notorious for functioning as a colony and working together for the group as a whole. Ants, compared to other animals, work because they function as a unit and put the needs of the colony above the needs of the individual. It’s a very interesting and not-so-subtle metaphor to Principal Gakuganji’s point that Itadori’s existence is an issue about the future of jujutsu sorcerers as a whole compared to the individual’s life. Further, Gojo then stepping on the ants without a care is also a not-so-subtle hint to his selfishness and his drive to put his wants above the group’s 😅😅
