Would like to say, and this is not an excuse because it shouldn't have to be something a viewer deals with, but Black Sails significantly improves *after* Season 1. A lot of fans of the show will still acknowledge season 1 is weak, or at least weaker than the rest. Season 1 feels like a show written for teens—season 2, the complexity of the characters and depth of the plot greatly expands. Again, perfectly understandable not to want to slog through a whole season to get to the good stuff (because you still kind of need to watch season 1 as it still feeds into the rest), but if you were somehow able to, that's when the show changes from average *at best* to one of the best TV shows out there. It's kind of the opposite problem of a TV show that is absolutely stellar in quality to begin with and turns to schlock in later seasons.

Unpopular opinion but I’d like to see The Rain make an appearance one day! It’s a Danish series that came out the following year after Dark and like Dark, would need subtitles but once you watch, you hardly notice. Great actors, interesting characters, and intriguing plot that quickly draws you in but won’t smoke your brain out like Dark 😅 It’s a short series that’s final with less episodes in each than most shows and not very long. Only ONE channel has reacted to it on YouTube which is such a shame it has even less exposure. One day I hope you’ll watch it even if it’s during personal time and highly recommend it to anyone else reading this!

People can love the show, that's all well and good. We all love to love shows. But it is just a bad show that goes on for ever and ever and just gets worse and worse as it goes. It gets so bad people start to really over state the quality it had from the start.

Some of my recommendations for the future: 1. Cobra Kai – a continuation of the cult Karate Kid series, set 30 years after the events of the first film. The same actors, the same characters. Full of humor, emotional moments, and exciting fights. Lots of '80s nostalgia and film series callbacks. 2. The Leftovers – a somewhat underrated masterpiece with a mysterious storyline, but above all, an incredibly moving tale about dealing with the trauma of losing loved ones. Extremely emotional. 3. Severance – a recent hit from Apple TV. Another mystery box-type story, with excellent acting and an original plot. 4. Lost – once a hit on the scale of Game of Thrones. Worth watching because it's a great series and a classic. A crazy, mysterious, and twisted story. 5. From – a mysterious horror series by the creators of Lost, also heavily twisted and mysterious, with the added element of horror. 6. The Night Of – a great miniseries. Additionally, if you ever decide to watch Daredevil, it’s worth watching the entire Netflix Marvel series in the order they were released. Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Punisher, and The Defenders are also excellent, and watching all of them provides a better understanding of the entire mini-universe. (It’s not strongly connected to the Marvel movies.)

Putting expanse on a list alongside dark blows my mind more than dark did. Expanse is nowhere near the same quality of story telling, acting, writing. I've tried so hard with the expanse but it's like they let amateur writers write the dialogue and forgot to get anyone but background extras to act in the main cast.

Nah man the character work in seasons 1-5 is a masterclass it falls off after that. Its current reputation is a result of season 6 and beyond. I remember in 2013-2014 when people were making all sorts of comparisons between Rick and Walter in terms of their writing and development, but then after season 5 (the best season), the writing team shifted and they focused more on viewer retention than sensical storytelling. I'd rather they watch Daredevil tho cos I wouldn't wanna see them not complete the walking dead which i don't think they would, nor would I blame them past a certain point

The essential problem with multiple choice is, that you do not get a serious answer out of it. At the end, you get a show with like 200 votes to win, out of 1000 who voted. Thats 20% of the viewership that wants the show. And keep in mind, you can vote more, so 80% deliberately choose to not vote for it. And then you watch a show which only 20% is interested in. Atleast do a vote on only two shows, so you get a serious interest rate.

TWD is very similar to GoT in that regard. When they aired, I was following both shows passionately, but in hindsight, the decline in quality was massive and the ending ridiculously bad, which sadly undermines the entire previous story as well.

I subscribed for Dark a few weeks back. The Expanse would make me stay tho! It's just so well done - great story, awesome characters, and the world-building is top-notch.​ Amazing visuals. Space sci-fi done right! The Sopranos is a up there as one of the best shows ever, it's a classic. It's one of those shows that changed TV forever. But I feel like it's not the best for reaction videos tbh. It's more of a slow burn, with a lot of subtle moments that might not get big reactions.​ The Walking Dead started off strong. Season 1 was great and had me on the edge of my seat. But after that, it kind of lost its spark. Some seasons had their moments, but overall, it felt like the show was just dragging on. By the end, it seemed like they were just churning out episodes without much thought, similar to how Grey's Anatomy has been going on forever. It left me feeling a bit disappointed.​

Definitely a double edged sword. I threw a vote to the expanse cause anything is better than the walking dead. But I'm stil not super thrilled about it. With the shows they have watched, I think they passed a quality threshold that is definitely hard to go below. I think a lot of people don't take that into account.

Breaking bad was a slow burner. The sopranos had shocking moments and some funny moments with the Italian American banter and expressions. James Gandolfinos (RIP) portrayal of Tony Soprano is magic.

The shows are different but they're both dramas. BB and BCS is a lot better at character building but the way its done is similar. The Walking Dead was made in a similar era to BB and they are both filmed in similar ways. I think they are comparable.

That is surprisingly true. Maybe thats already the result of shows who appear frequently in polls and always lose to the newcomer ones they add to it. The Expanse or The Last Kindgom been in these polls for so long. Many people probably do not resub to vote, cause they think its a lost cause anyway.

Very odd....the acting in that show is atrocious and it looks incredibly cheap for the first few seasons. And outside of having some interesting story beats, the dialogue between characters is awful and only made worse by the poor acting.

TPM also lost a lot of long time supporters because of The Walking Dead. I recall people who subbed for them for years canceling their subscriptions and considering how wholesome TPM is I would expect that bummed them out significantly.

I have a ton of respect for sopranos but, like a quite episodic, slice of life, character study type show? is just a really bad pick for a reaction channel show surprised to see so many rooting for it, there's a ton of shows i personally love and would rate as great, important work of art shows everyone should watch, but would never *ever* suggest or back for a reaction show. Am no walking dead fan at all but it makes a ton more sense as a reaction channel show even if i think sopranos is 1000x better than it.. Expanse or Vikings I'd be happy with! Last Kingdom heard lots of good things about but struggled to get into myself.

Not really, i hold it in higher regard than anything else on the list but feel its an utterly awful choice for a reaction show so i didn't vote for it. The fact that people don't factor in the medium to the decision baffles me. Reaction content has different criteria to what you'd put on to watch yourself, and slice of life character study type shows just don't really work. Same for Mad Men or The Wire I have all the respect for those shows but would never watch reactions to them

To both of you, you're not alone, I was the same and needed some pushing to carry on, the first half the first season is really dense and tough for many people, I felt same for first half of first season, as did several of my friends I recommended it to, but now its in our top 3 fave shows of all time - I do recommend trying to push through though S2 onward is fkin incredible, and on a second watch after getting into it the first season is amazing, its just dense and without the existing attachment to the characters its easy to bounce off. The reason its so revered in the fanbase tho is all stuff you never made it to.

For me it was also the main plot that did not get me,for example with the Vikings was different because I always was interested in Vikings and I found the characters great and was right away hooked. The same was wits SOA my favorite show ever. But again please don't get me wrong I am not want to come off as someone who talks bad about the show just because it wasn't for me it doesn't mean that the show is not good.

wrong lol, most people who aren't "fans" of the show generally think the show is all-round mediocre past Season 1. The majority of the show's seasons are fairly low-quality with some occasional high-points. Don't try to give them some misinformation and try to frame everyone who dislikes TWD as "upset" over some random controversy you think may have occured in a certain season. People think the show is mediocre because it (mostly) is. Season 1 is definitely extremely good though, but the show isn't just that one season it has like 500 more slop seasons

Sopranos is the a terrific show but this is not the right reaction channel for it. I've seen reactors who weren't a good match for it get roped into watching it (it's a huge commitment) and it was terrible. But with the right reactors, it's fantastic too.

Yeah, there's very little handholding early on and they throw you straight into the world. I'd recommend they watch with subtitles as well in order to better understand the Belter creole.
