Mid-season finales always had me on edge when the show was airing. I was so sad when Hershel died 😢

Josh Ashford

Hershel was such a good character, may he RIP

Keelan Davidson

i been waiting for this one. one of the most heartbreaking episodes 😭

pilbil

Hey so, Phil's real name is phil. We know this because Milton from Woodbury knew Phil as Phil and they knew each other well before the apocalypse. Brian Harriet is just a name he saw on the brick wall and used as an alias

Liam_Mac06

Just to help you back Shane's strength pudgey, Shane did not lose his fight with Rick. Shane could have easily killed Rick when he brought the motor bike down on his leg, but his objective was not to kill Rick, he was more interested in Randell so he left him to go get the gun, then while Shane was aiming at Randell, Rick got the jump on him and won. The Governor is no doubt a very strong fighter, he was brutal when he killed the walkers in the pits. But i think Shane does beat the Governor in a 1v1 if it happened like this episode with Rick.

Liam_Mac06

I wouldn't say that classifies as Rick beating Shane in a fight.

LisaC65

i like your disagreement. Rick was tired but the gov is a strong man.. he took down merl and he can fight

Colton

the smile from Hershel during Ricks speech gets me every time. 😭 RIP to the character and the actor Scott Wilson!

Pushindazeez

I feel ya' Pudgey, all these years later and I am still in mourning for Hershal! He was the BEST. And YES! That was the Irish lady, I was hoping you'd recognize her, great catch! Also, the mid-season finales were always peak, they had to keep us needing more so we'd wait out that next three months and still be frothing at the mouth!!! 😁. This was such a top tier episode though and just devastating.

Saltnlight

It took me two weeks to recover from Hershals death. It's still difficult to watch the scene.

Ludus Aurea

You’re on the best part of the show now since season 1. Imo. RIP to Herschel. Especially because he was a dick in the comic but Scott Wilson made him one of the goats. The bloody baby thing is a reference to the comic. 41:39 yes that was the Irish lady, from Better Call Saul and the season 4 premiere.

Ludus Aurea

Well Merle was half dead already.

Ludus Aurea

Rick literally spent like 29 volumes of the book with one hand. Simply put, no.

Pushindazeez

I'm still in mourning twelve years later! I ugly cry every single time I rewatch it!

Pushindazeez

They have the best and most in-depth discussions of any reaction channel I watch, I love it!!! ❤

cheekyramen

Hershel's death left such a huge hole to the characters and the narrative itself, it feels like something truly shifted when he died. His character represented and symbolized so much goodness and hope in such a bleak world. That's how it felt like to me when I first watched the show. A tragic but very powerful sendoff for an iconic character 😔❤️‍🩹

Complextro

don't know if it's been said but from season 3 onwards, the seasons were *kind of* split into 2 halves, with the mid season finale usually being a pretty big episode (like this one) since the break between episodes was usually 2-3 months

DominaZeta

You could always rely on The Governor to get loads of ppl killed and ruin everything just to serve his pathetic need for power and control. One of the most infuriating villains on this show due to his extreme arrogance and constant bold-faced lying... arghhhhhhhh! Loved to hate him.

Kai

Believe it or not this episode was the very first episode of TWD that I ever saw. I’m actually low key terrified of zombies so I avoided it, but then my niece convinced me that it was really all about the characters/relationships and was really good so I watched this episode with her when it originally aired. I liked the episode but obviously didn’t understand how devastating a loss Herschel was until I went back and watched from the beginning. This episode and all the acting (especially Maggie) breaks me every time 💔

Tyah Reacts

Glad to be back here with you guys again, I took a little break but I’m looking forward to you guys reaction to the next few episodes going into the end of this season 🍿🫶🏽

Darius

In the previous episode, one of the dead guys the Governor saw in the woods was decapitated and had a sign that said "liar"

Darius

Rick was shot in the leg and Governor was shot in the arm for their fight

Emily P

This is my first time rewatching TWD since it aired. I also never finished the show so will be finishing it with you guys. When I first started the show, I was in high school. I am now the mom of an almost 1 year old baby girl and the scene where Rick is looking for Judith hit me sooo hard.

Jamie-Leigh Lawson

This is one of my top 5 episodes of TWD, and the whole reason I subscribed to Patreon 😅 Also, congratulations on 4 years of S&P!

Liam_Mac06

Not understanding what you're saying? simply put no what?

Sahae

The man has no redeeming trait guys be for real he is BAD lol

spartanandpudgey

thanks Jamie! we appreciate your support. this episode was incredibly but very heart breaking 😭

joeyyy

it was never about power in the way that you think it was for him. But you don't understand his character enough to get that.

DominaZeta

I understand perfectly: the Governor is a sociopath. He displays narcissism, a lack of empathy, pathological lying, manipulative behaviour, a callous disregard for human life, and an insatiable need for power and control over others… he’s a textbook sociopath. It’s not that complicated.

Vanessa Campbell

I was 16 when this episode came out. My friends and I had a group chat we would message each other live about what was happening in the show while the episodes were airing. I remember this one devastating all of us. It’s all we talked about at school the next day. I’m now 29 and the pain hit me all over again 😭 RIP Hershel

Ryan Hauck

i couldnt wait for this episode to drop on youtube so here we are!
