DRIP DROP

❤️ ❤️ 🔥

Golladan

Look at them in that thumbnail. So innocent.

Ryan Penn

It was done really well, but I still don't understand why they killed him RIGHT AFTER Beth. At least give us some time to grieve 😭

Lyn Hurst

Another rough one. I really knew he was going to die when they showed him with all the others who had died recently. So sad. He was a rock and yes, words of comfort and wisdom. We are dwindling again. Beth gone, Tyreese gone, Abraham - a shell of himself, Eugene - injured and mentally broken. This show hasn't given us a break with the exception of one episode this season. I love TWD and I never thought i would say that, but I would like to get some sort of forward moving arc where they can at least have a place to live for awhile and sure there will still be dangers, but they need to recover and regroup.

Samanda

They don't care if someone is important or not. They just follow their instincts and bite whenever someone has a little moment in which they aren't paying attention, that's how dangerous this world is. It's not that they suddenly go like "Oh I'm good for a few days and won't bite any humans, because my cousin 50 miles down the road already ate a pretty popular person yesterday."

DRIP DROP

Rip Tyreese. As much as it sucks, they sent him off right. He didnt have the personality to survive long term.

DRIP DROP

This is the best thing about TWD. Its a zombie apocalypse. Anyone can go at any time.

Just a little detail, the voice on the radio Tyresse hears is Andrew Lincoln (Rick's actor). It's strange hearing his normal accent

Nene 🩷

The other twin got out bc it was a Jill & Jack bathroom and the door to the bathroom was open. And I agree it was kinda stupid bc why did you get distracted? but beautifully done lol

Nene 🩷

Exactly that….

Nene 🩷

I think the point of his death is to show that right now while we are outside with no permanent camp, you have to have a certain mentality and you can’t drop your guard even for a second. Like you just have to stay numb in order to keep going and they’re all pretty there, even Glenn but Tyrese is the type of person to get caught up on emotions. Basically…he ain’t built for this. Especially not rn and for what we have to do.

Elora D. Dragneel

I love this episode, it feels like a tribute for the deceased. Getting to see the Governor, Bob, Beth and the girls again is such a treat. RIP Tyreese. At least he got a good sendoff.

Makeeba

Right after you mention "Tyrese is becoming another hershel in a way" They take him 😂 Rip Tyrese, you will be missed. Enjoyed this reaction ❤️

Makeeba

As i was wondering this too and after a lazy google read I found two speculating theories/ answers that stood out to me as to why tyrese was focusing on the pictures so much in that moment. 1. The tramatic experience with Lizzie and Mika, reminding him of lost innocence in the harsh and unsafe world theyre all living in now. 2. Seeing two children in a photo in happier times, right after seeing one of them dead in the house, may have disorientated him.

Nathan Jasper

At least he went with the people he loved. Beth, Lizzie, Mika, and Bob. He went in peace, which is more than we can say for most deaths.

John Neiberger

Superb episode, and a heartbreaker. I'm starting to experience what I experienced the first time I watched the show, a fatigue from all the bleakness. After a while, I just start to feel like it's too exhausting to be invested in it. It feels like the best you can hope for is a brief pause in between deaths and pain.

layyfee.r

just fyi, there was a 3 month period between episode 8 and 9. so it felt more quickly for you guys. ofcourse it’s still 2 big deaths in 2 episodes

lex

i think it’s actually around a 3 week jump from ep 8 to 9!

Estevan Rivera

I always assumed that as well. Never thought that how the kid got out was ever in question lmao

Estevan Rivera

Definitely at least 2 months...5x08 11/30/14, 5x09 02/08/15

Estevan Rivera

Something that always makes me so sad about this episode is that everything goes wrong when it comes to saving Tyreese. The odds are completely against him....his foot gets stuck in the fence, another walker bite, Noah drops him, the car gets stuck. "It went the way it had to, the way it was always going to"

lex

ohh you're right. I thought they meant in show universe. my bad

Bill B.

Oh man… they’re wearing the same clothes as the last episode… watched these back to back. I’m in the intro and I feel bad already for Spartan…. I already know this will be rough!

Bill B.

Wow!! That’s crazy. The whole time I had always thought it was historical audio from something like the Rwandan genocide, esp as Tyreese had been talking about his dad always telling him to listen to the news and what’s going on in the world. Anyway really cool to know that was Andrew Lincoln!

Bill B.

When it aired it this was almost 3 months after the previous episode.

Korivex

Did you notice in the car, when Tyrese was ready and said to turn it off.... Beth, Bob, Mika and Lizzie looked normal, no wounds, no blood. I thought that was a nice detail, because in the house they all still had their wounds and death wounds.

Josh M

I LOVE this episode. So beautifully written, with Tyreese going through his entire journey via the manifestations of dead characters. When he said "turn it off," I think he was choosing death. He was tired of the violence, death, and despair. Didn't want to be a part of it anymore. Granted, I think he would've bled out either way. Very tragic episode.

Josh M

Definitely a consequence of parking so far away, but I guess they had good reason to do so.

Josh M

Just like Dale. It was only a matter of time before death got to him. It's so sad watching him say "people like me, they can live," only to ultimately succumb to his wounds.

Estevan Rivera

ooo thats a fair thought, and you may be right in that case lol

Solène Calabrese

this episode is one of my favorite episodes i think it was shot so well you really feel everything that tyreese is going through and the scenes are incredible

Solène Calabrese

I don't know if you noticed this already but sasha is wearing bob's jacket, the one he had when he was dying, i think it is to show us how much grief she went through just days ago with bob, just to lose her brother right after that, sasha has been through so much really

JonSnow21

I will forever be annoyed they killed Tyreese after Beth like cmon man but I get it, Walking dead genuinely is like Game of thrones in this way, where they will kill anyone at any time which keeps you on your feet , and it was done beautifully I can’t lie unlike Beth’s death imo. Also I love how they show that everyone in the group has kind of been out there to long, even Glenn , the most good-hearted person of the group is showing some darkness. I also how Rick honours Beth by taking Noah back to his home and I think that shows the distinction between Shane and Rick bc yeah they both were at the level of doing what needs to be done in a way but Shane would never care to help anyone in the group but Lori and Carl, which is why I love that the show shows the differences between them while they are similar in savagery now , Rick still keeps his morals . Amazing reaction tho guys.

Victoria E (vickster5001)

I've noticed the Brits watching seemed to immediately clock it's Andy as we've heard his British accent more, whereas viewers who perhaps weren't aware of him before TWD don't realise. It's a fun detail.

Victoria E (vickster5001)

These two losses, especially if you aren't watching with a mid season break between them is so tough. I was so gutted to lose Tyrese.

ShanB

Tyrese said his dad called the duty of listening to the horrible stories on the radio “the high cost of living”. Asking his dead friends to turn it off was him being too tired to pay that price anymore.

ShanB

Love Shane as an entertaining character but from the beginning he wasn’t willing to stick his neck out for anyone but Lori and Carl (Rick once upon a time). It would’ve only gotten worse being that he wouldn’t even go rescue Andrea Glenn etc from the mall in season 1! Def wasn’t taking Noah to Virginia.

JonSnow21

Exactly, agreed completely, I love Shane as a character but there’s literally no aspect that they’re close. Rick is smarter , tougher and still has his morals which separate them .

Donny

2 things: 1. Some houses in the U.S. have a shared bathroom between two bedrooms connecting the two rooms. Hence how the walker got from one bedroom to the other. 2. The radio with the news stories is actually recapping events Tyrese has been through in the apocalypse

Cody Taylor

One thing to keep in mind. While they do have some suppressors for their guns most dont and they absolutely dont have hearing protection. Every shot is going to damage your hearing more and more. Its not unrealistic to believe most of the survivors would have moderate hearing damage that could prevent them from hearing a walker here and there.

🤦‍♂️Everybody Hates Noah

Fun facts The "Radio Voice" is Andrew Lincoln: The voice on the radio, which narrates parts of Tyreese's hallucination, was provided by Andrew Lincoln using his natural British accent. A "Walking Dead" First: This episode was the first in the series to be set outside the state of Georgia. Massive Journey: The group travels roughly 530 miles from Atlanta to Richmond, Virginia, in this episode, the longest distance traveled in the series at that point. The Hidden Hallucinations: The room in Noah’s house where Tyreese hallucinations occurred was built inside a soundstage to keep the returning actors (who played dead characters) secret from the public. Comic Book Nod: Noah's community, "Shirewilt Estates," is a direct homage to the "Wiltshire Estates" location in the comic book series. Symbolic Song: The song played during the episode, which Beth sings, is "Struggling Man" by Jimmy Cliff. A First for Mid-Season: This was the first time a main cast member was killed off in a mid-season premiere.

Allison M Killen

I've always thought that Tyrese could have thought Noah was a twin and so he thought he was looking at Noah and his twin brother in the photos. Which is why when he saw Noah's mom dead in the living room and 1 set of walker feet under the doorway, he assumed he was safe and let down his guard a bit. I believe as he was looking at the photos is when he realized it was Noah plus a set of twin brothers and that's when the second brother attacked Tyrese.

Allison M Killen

I feel like that didn't make sense lol. But my theory is basically: -Tyrese thought Noah was the twin -Tyrese let down his guard in the house when he saw that the mom was dead and "Noah's twin" was locked up safely -Tyrese focused so hard on the pics because his guard was down and only then did he finally realize the family consisted of Noah plus two boys and then he gets bitten because his guard was down

Ririn

why ?

MrMoleHole

Eh game of thrones had better pacing for deaths, hey did not have huge deaths one after another.

Alissa

The actor who plays Noah, is famous for being the character Chris, on a show called “Everybody Hates Chris” lol

Lizabee

In two episodes we lost the characters who were too good for that world. Sad

Guilherme G.

I understood lol, and I can see that being the case too

Zane Platt

The tragic brilliance of this season is that it shows why the prison was so important and why finding Alexandria was so necessary. When they were out on the road, just surviving, people were not only dying but they were losing themselves in the process

Zane Platt

This is one of the most beautifully tragic and bittersweet episodes of the entire series. It shows Tyreese taking pride in who he was and the fact that he didn't let this new world turn him into a man like The Governor. P.S my personal thought about Tyreese staring at the picture is that it reminded him of himself and Sasha. He looks at it and thinks about what Sasha said about how she has changed and it saddens him to think about how she was before and the innocence of that time.

AlrightThere

Late to the party here but no one seemed to mention that the place wasn't initially over run by walkers it was actually attacked by other humans. That's what made Michonne and Glenn have the reaction they did when they saw the cut up bodies, the fence looking like it was set on fire, the walls smashed in by vehicles, the buildings burnt and destroyed. Once they were done the walkers did the rest. This episode foreshadows a LOT
