I hate to say this but I was genuinely angry with how bad the finale was. It had its moments but it was such an insane let down.

It was disappointing to see the show go from so good in the first 3 seasons. Each season out did the previous one. The last season felt rushed, it didn't feel as epic as it should have. Homelander died, but even that felt so quick and lackluster.

I really enjoyed the finale. I think if yous had actually read the comics and if they went with that you wouldn’t have liked that either lol unless you wanted butcher to kill frenchie kimiko and mothers milk? Then get killed by Hughie. Or for black noir to be a homelander clone who done most of the bad stuff. Butcher was strong enough to fight homelander just not strong enough to kill him. Hes went toe to toe with him a couple of times at herogasm and at the prison camp. All the supes are bullet proof (you questioned why oh father was taking bullets) Killing homelander quick was smart if he got another vial of V there would be trouble again not worth the risk. (Kimiko got her powers back that way after soldier boy blasted her) Butchers not gonna mess about when it comes to killing him. The deeps death was fitting and funny he got a tentacle straight through his throat which is great since he sexually assaulted starlights mouth season 1 And any time he’s been moving quick in the ocean he’s usually using an animal to do that. Marie not being involved in the fight is fine by me. They’ve stated her power level was exaggerated and she wouldn’t be able to actually kill homelander. Victoria who had similar powers was too scared to even try against him and I don’t think she’d have been much help. There was supposed to be a third season of gen V which got cancelled so ye, she was never going to be the answer for the boys especially since a lot of people wouldn’t even know who she is. I think yous just wanted soldier boy to be the main man lol that’s not the story of the boys. I know the show didn’t stick to the comics either but I think what they did was great.

I agree this finale episode wasn’t the best and the rest of the season from episodes 4-7 were a let down but actually the deaths of Homelander and Butcher were fairly true to the comics. Butcher killing Homelander with the crowbar was basically ripped directly from the comic art and Hughie killing Butcher after a fight between the two of them when Butcher wants to release the virus is the same. Main difference is that in the comics Butcher had killed MM, Frenchie and Kimiko before that as well as wanting a supe genocide

This last episode was actually more similar to the comics than any other lol. I liked that aspect. Very faithful. Definitely not GOT level finale lol.

this left me feeling like the stranger things final, some of it passable.. but it could have been so much more badass, same as Vecna, it felt like homelander got Nerf'd last episode for the sake of plot, or to just play it safe, I need hollywood to stop playing it safe. take a few risks, It just felt like we were leading upto a homelander Crashout that we were robbed of and replaced with a sentimental Frenchie scene lol Terrible writting aside, Anthony Starr makes me proud to be kiwi that dude took what they gave him and made it so much better than it deserved to be imo, anyway rant over XD hope you guys are having a good day and I look forward to seeing what show replaces the boys :)

It’s just bad writing. Like how did kamiko get soldier boys durability from her getting the radiation blast? The durability came from the V1. She should not have been able to take homelander’s heat vision.

The director was super proud of the final and said he pissed the right kind of people off (straight white men) and if you didnt like it, you were just an incel and proved his point. The final had shocking ratings and reviews. He also said Homelander was 100% a Donald Trump analogy.

Sooo as long as you piss off someone it's good? I don't really care about the Trump analogy. I care about good writing and satisfactory conclusions. Just because the director uses a cop out like, "as long as it pisses off the right people", doesn't make it automatically good. That's just something stupid people say to try and win arguments.

I know this is completely different but it would so so so cool if you guys started LOST. Great series, only 6 seasons and I feel like you would both get very emotionally invested!
