If it wasn’t evident, Dwight and Morgan are both gone after this. I want to comment on the helicopters and Anne but it’ll be a little. So, they should have extended the season a bit longer to cover some stuff regarding Negan at the end there. Morgan actually died waaaaaay before this in the book so the entire reason for keeping him in was basically to build that jail cell for Negan and give Rick an option besides killing him. Now that Negan is captured, Morgan’s storyline is over here. There’s about 70 issues of the comic book left to cover in the last 4 seasons so a lot of shit is still gonna happen.

Realistically, I can't see how they could let Negan just roam free. Even in civilized society, he would be tried for his crimes and likely imprisoned for life or put to death. I think he got a pretty good deal all things considered. And I don't blame Maggie or Daryl one bit for wanting to take him out still. Overall, I think the writing in S7 and 8 took a huge dip. Can't wait for season 9, because they brought on a new showrunner and the dialogue and story INSTANTLY felt refreshing to me. I think it's an excellent season! On another note, I'm sure others will mention this but this is the end for Morgan's run on the show as he joined a spin-off (unfortunately because I love his relationship with Rick). I only mention it because the show does not hint at it at all.

To be fair, I don't think the writing made that very clear. He was deliberately hostile to Gabriel and other friends of his when no one else was around to put on an act for. I still don't really know what the intention was, because it really feels like he was "Negan" until Rosita called him out.

As hinted not everyone is happy with Rick’s decision, but I feel like those who opposed didn’t protest because the fight wasn’t really over yet and they didn’t wanna risk tipping over the delicate balance/peace that Rick was trying to achieve. Attempting to do anything to Negan could have made some saviours rebel and start the fight again. Also most people respect Rick as a leader even if some dislike his decision. As for Eugene, he was never really team Negan, he was ‘team survival’ and integrating in the group granted him that. His shift was mostly a result of seeing an opportunity to save our group in a relatively safe way. He does care for most people there, like Rosita (who he has feelings for), he was just too scared to do anything that would result in his dead before. I think he's actually a pretty realistic character.

goodbye season 8, you will not be missed! some great moments, but overall a huge drag of a season with a lot of poor writing, and filler. rip carl! season 9 is such a step up in terms of everything. writing, storyline, cinematography. it's a good one with some big changes, I think you'll enjoy!

If you guys want to know what happened to Morgan you should just watch Fear the Walking Dead Season 4 Episode 1. They did a whole crossover event thing when the episodes aired, and it adds more to what his plan is. Not really a spoiler. I just wanted to bring it up in case you were wondering why he was in the junkyard.

Spartan’s loser strange grudge against the Oceanside community is so pathetic. And wow what a coincidence it’s also a woman predominant community that he has this weird hate for. It’s entirely on brand for the biggest woman hater in reaction history to be so strangely obsessed with hating this group.

Rick was bang out of order this episode. I'm sorry, but just because Carl had some weird last moment epiphany and wrote him a letter, Carl gets to decide what happens to Negan?? You can have a future Rick, that Carl wanted, with all the saviors you kept alive. Just not Negan, the dictator. Rick has betrayed Glenn. And Maggie. Maggie has suffered more under Negan than Rick or Carl. Had that been Lori, or carl or michonne that got beat to death by Negan, you think he's not gonna want him dead? Maggie has to live with that vision of Negan laughing and mocking Glenn while he suffered. I'm totally on Maggie's side here.

I love Carl, but part me of me feels like.. Well, he wasn't one of Negans SA by coercion' victims, he didnt have a partner beaten to death infront of him like Maggie, he didn't lose family or a child. It shouldn't be his choice of what the future should be for Negan or the Saviors when he wasn't the main people that suffered.

They were introduced as a group that was going to be a lot more important than anything they did. Overall I feel pretty much the same as Spartan about this episode. Season 9 we get a new show runner, the episodes get so much better. Let the Angela Kang era begin!!!

He's not wrong though absolute lackluster community that did nothing the entire season and only joined when it was 5 minutes from over. The season and show as a whole would be entirely the same without them.

Yeah I don't get how this ruins anything for them when literally everyone who followed the show at the time was aware of it from the marketing.. S9 makes zero mention of Morgan so people who don't watch Fear are left with no idea what happened to him. Dwight was given a proper end to his story-line, so you probably didn't need to mention him.

This was not a spoiler to anyone who followed TWD back when it aired. It was heavily marketed and S9 does not even mention Morgan once. Unless they eventually watch Fear, it would be as if he vanished into thin air.

Again, I see you constantly getting needlessly upset over people having an opinion different from yours. You want me to list the reasons? Characters with infinite ammo somehow, stupid decisions left and right (Daryl, Tara, Carl, Rick), everyone speaks in Shakespeare monologues rather than like normal human beings, lack of meaningful action in favor of boring shootouts with zero stakes, 10 walkers taking out a whole tiger, Carl suddenly going from Negan assassin to saint, horrible pacing and bottle episodes following random side characters, the garbage camp (which deserves its own rant for even existing). Is that enough reasons?

The point is that they aren't following the marketing though are they? They are watching now and we should not be spoiling anything going forward that was well known to all of us when we were watching because we had to see marketing.

It's such a strange episode. Some things I like, but overall it still feels lacking and I continue to loathe the villain music Maggie/Jesus/Daryl scene. It just feels so off with the tone of this show. S8 is the weakest season for me, so I'm glad we're moving on. I just hope everyone keeps any spoilers for the future out of these comments, including ones that we all knew in any marketing for future seasons. I hope Spartan and Pudgey get to be surprised. One thing though - don't dismiss Denise there Spartan, she did save Carl when he got shot in the face!

[Comic book spoiler] and keep in mind that Oceanside had 1000x more relevancy and presence in the show than they ever did in the source material. And can we please stop acting like this Spartan dude doesn’t have obvious sexism issues? How often does he try to undermine or “be correct” in his debates with his own woman? How often does he undermine any female character’s abilities in this show or criticize them for showing the same characteristics and/or behaviors that he praises the male characters for (particularly referencing both of their ridiculous obsessions with Shane)?

I just wish yall could have the logic that a group of survivors in this show have no obligation to take up arms and engage in a conflict they have every reason to protect themselves from. Who cares if they didn’t help? Who cares if they proved no actual value in the war? It’s insane that yall insist that every storyline needs to be so black or white, or that every “non-bad guy” group must show heroism and put themselves in harms way. The Oceanside group are a bunch of traumatized victims. And what’s a REALISTIC storyline is a group that shows as much hesitation and anxiety to joining the war as they did. Again, there’s a legit difference between showing indifference or disinterest in a storyline/group of people vs. showing as much aggression and ignorance as Spartan did for them, and essentially all female characters on the show.

Spartan is 100% right. Oceanside is useless and weak and cringe. They are a DEI group that have no value other than to check a box. mainly to appease people who we should have stopped paying attention to a long time ago. Oceanside diminished the show and the story with their inclusion.

Information that was revealed in promos, especially at a time when most people watched shows together on TV, means that the info counts as common knowledge that was intended to be known by people. Is it technically a spoiler? Sure. But then there are some people who like to go into films/shows completely blind, meaning they might not even want to know what actors are playing in the movie/show, and they would consider that a spoiler too, but that is unreasonable, and no one is under any obligation to go out of their way to shield them from such information.
