---------------------------------------------------------------------------Full Length Reaction GuideWe take copyright law very seriously, so you will have to sync up our reaction to your own version of the show/movie. To help, we have a range of guiding tools throughout the reaction to help you sync up with us, including a small snippet of the scene to ensure you are in sync.  Any instances in which you see the screen cut, this means we’ve had technical difficulties or have skipped a potential disruptions/bloopers. This means you will need to sync up your copy of the show again, if we are unable to edit these cuts seamlessly into the next scene. An updated timecode will be provided on the screen.  Anytime we pause, there will be timer/countdown on screen to prompt you. So if we’re about to pause, there’ll be a countdown, and you are expected to pause as the number reaches 0. The same will happen when we press play after pausing. You will press play as the number reaches 0.  Here are some popular ways people sync up the reaction with their own copy of the show:

Use a dual monitor PC setup to watch both screens simultaneously

Use the split screen functions on your computer/phone to watch them side by side

Chromecast / Screenshare one screen to your TV while watching the other screen on a phone or laptop

HDMI your laptop / tablet to the TV and use the TV as a 2nd monitor (not mirror display)

Use your Smart TV or Gaming console to play the YouTube reaction and your Phone/Laptop to play the show (or other way around)

Download this google chrome extension so once you manually sync the videos up, the extension will keep both videos synced up when you play/pause, move around in the video, etc (can also pick up where you left off if you close the windows.) Also supports videos that need to be slowed down/sped up, so you can choose the correct speed in the extension: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/video-sync/npplmbdcndipnaemaoljdppjodakaicn?authuser=0&hl=en&pli=1

Use Google chromes picture in picture mode to overlay your own copy of the show over our reaction in a smaller window size (Link to the extension here: ( https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/picture-in-picture-extens/hkgfoiooedgoejojocmhlaklaeopbecg?hl=en )

YES!!! Love this season. Def in my top 3

SeanSeesThings

I will be curious to see your thoughts on this season. Without spoiling it, a lot of people really didn’t seem to like it but I thought it was really good. Never understood the hate it got.

Austin

Not my favorite season by any stretch, but I have... somewhat warmed to it over the past couple rewatches? Plus, I've seen some people rank it fairly high, so I'll be interested to hear your guys' thoughts.

Jo

I just want to say that I just binged your season 5 reactions and love when you guys bicker and argue and keep score about who's been right the most lol. Pudgey was definitely right about Quinn.

Daniel Lewis

The season 5 to season 6 time and story jump is more jarring when you are binging the show. When watching live at the time you had to wait a year between seasons the experience was very different and a lot less jarring. Trisha just wanted to give Dexter a little thankyou for all his help back in school.

Jack Mingle

One of my favorite seasons, excited to see how y'all react to it.

John Neiberger

This is a fun season. It...goes some places.

Richiep

Why is the divorce jarring and abrupt? Its been a year, lots of marriages break down in the first year. The only jarring thing here is Spartan lol and the to claim Pudgeys reaching, dude cmon. Also Maria never said it was a business thing, that's just what her boss said.

Bramskii

Apologies in advance for this season. I usually skip it and season 8 in my rewatches.

Austin

Nah I gotta agree with Spartan here. You spend two seasons getting us invested in that relationship just to break them up off screen? Weak writing.

Kyle Rawson

Some of these kills get pretty wild this season

Austin

Yeah at this point, in terms of their Dexter reactions, I'm mainly just sticking around for S7 and hopefully the spin offs, if they decide to watch em 😂

Richiep

Their relationship was hardly taking centre stage lol. It was filler plot

Nanners

This season takes some interesting and weird directions at times. I haven’t rewatched it in a long, long time so I’m looking forward to rewatching it with y’all and hearing your thoughts!

You cracked me up with the sausage comment but Trisha just wanted to thank Dexter for helping her pass all those high school years, so it was ‘returning the favor” rather than for her pleasure. Still kinda weird to say “thanks sweetie” but anyway. Also I had to “laugh in American” when Spartan questioned them carrying guns off duty. It is common in the United States in a pro-guns rights state like Florida, so someone like a cop who already owns a gun would def carry one around off duty in public.

Paul

Dexter awkwardly dancing was a delight to watch hahaha

Back in the 80's and 90's it was common for TV shows to be episodic. Each episode was its own contained story, but there was a light overarching theme through out the series. A good example of that is something like Star Trek: TNG. When the Golden Age of Television began in 1999 with the Sopranos it favored the serialized format, where each episode builds on the one before it to tell a whole story. Breaking Bad is the best example of that. Dexter is an episodic/serialized hybrid, except instead of each episode being its own thing, it's the seasons that are episodic ("Killer of the week" storyline) while each episode within the season is serialized. So basically you have a Killer of the Season instead of "Killer/Monster of the Week". That's why starting a new season of Dexter can feel jarring. Though still, even with the seasonal episodic format, you still have an overarching theme, story, and evolution of the characters. So there is still continuity. I actually think this format works the best. Even in Breaking Bad, they actually made sure that each season has its own flavor, and there it worked perfectly. Having said that, I think the problem with Season 6 is just that it is a meh season. It's one of the least favorite seasons for most people.

Tom

Yeah, this season is not great, but... I love the season finale. I can't wait to see them react to it.
