If you are strictly are asking why have the sex scene between Mysaria & Rhaenera before sending her away, because it now feels unnecessary. I can see it feeling hollow and not needed if the writers knew the next episode she would be sent away. However if you are asking what changed? The answer was everything once Aegon & SunFyre returned. Her metamorphosis to Mad Queen exists in every episode starting with her stillborn child on the day her father died. Her conversion is akin to the death of a frog in a pot of water, the change subtle but she becomes more and more changed until she arrives at the boiling point and it is too late to turn back. Go back to episode 8 of season 2 when Alicent makes her the promises she makes. Rhaenera no longer can see a way out of the conflict without her Brother dead. Then we get to Ep1 S3 Rhaenera thinks she struck the bargain of her life, everyone calls her a fool for trusting Alicent. She still insists she believes the deal is real, until her Fleet is attacked then she thinks she was tricked. Her anger swells but Jace steals her ability to take control of the War. Jace is killed and we see her break interacting with his corpse. She is on the verge of breaking until Daemon announces Vhaegar was seen leaving King's Landing. Momentarily she believes Alicent came through. Then she gets to King's Landing to learn Aegon & Alicent appear to have fled. Otto then is presented to her for execution she is beyond conflicted but is forced to kill him. Then she realizes she feels empty as she is going to take her seat on the Iron Throne because Aegon is alive & it feels like Alicent betrayed her. Ep3 you have to remember who told Rhaenera that Aegon was so severely burnt & weak if she simply declared Aegon was dead no one would every know different. It was Alicent who talked her into that. Couple that with Corylss calling her kids bastards and pointing out Joffery will never be accepted as her heir, reignites all bs that lead to the Civil War. The faith refuses to crown her. She refuses to press her advantage going after Ormond after the false surrender and kill him ASAP. Instead she listens to council pushing for restraint. Daemon lies to her about Sheep Stealer and for however many weeks the skull she stared at turned out to be another deception. She also found out the master of coin stole all of the crowns fold, which prevented her from using that money to protect the city, provide for the people & to pressure the other noble houses to bend the knee. At every turn she failed either by making a wrong decision, betrayal, trusting people or following the playbook of a peacetime king who is ghost to win a war. In episode 7 Mysaria comes out and says she is only providing the kind of council her father would followed. When she hears Aegon is alive, it means that same threat to her legitimacy exists, it means she listened once again to Alicent then got burnt by it, it shows she lied the faith & noble houses in an attempt to gain legitimacy, it shows that her father's way of doing things would never work in her reign. Therefore the council Mysaria offered which aligned closely with her father's ideology no longer was needed. So while Rhaenera"s decision seems abrupt it was anything but. , I say this half joking and half serious in 2+ seasons of Rhaenera of making decisions and listening to council the only decision that worked out as suggested was Alan telling her cats in the keep would help solve the rat problem.

That northerner wasn’t an actual Stark he is Rodrick Dustin. While Cregan stark did pledge his allegiance to The Blacks he did state he would not march south until the Men had brought in the last harvest before winter, as the winter is so devastating in the north they need every bit of grain they can grow. So the main Stark hasn’t even arrived south yet. Cregan Stark did send some of his men from Barrowton and White harbour, men who lived in the towns who did not work the land, and older men in the later stages of life down south early while the main army was still gathering harvest. This advance army was led by Rodrick Dustin. The reason they are so eager to die is it is often custom in the north for elder men in the north when winter comes to walk out into the cold and die so that there is more food for the rest of the family throughout winter. And they would rather die in battle than wondering into the cold. In regards to Mysaria, I think the reason Rhaenyra dismissed her is because Mysaria was always advocating for helping, getting support from the smallfolk and Rhaenyra did this even over paying the goldcloaks. When Rhaenyra heard about Aegon that made her decide to abandon caring what the smallfolk think, and this is why she dismissed Mysaria. At the end what you saw is a riderless Vermithor chasing a riderless Caraxes who was chasing Ulf on Silverwing. Caraxes was chasing Ulf+Silverwimg probably because Caraxes and Daemon are quite well attuned so Caraxes knew Ulf was attacking Daemon’s army or Caraxes sensed Silverwing was a threat . Vermithor was probably chasing Caraxes because Vermithor (Male) and Silverwing (female) are mates so Vermithor (without Hugh the Hammer riding him) was probably trying to defend Silverwing from Caraxes

Helaena’s death broke me. Like most of those situations you don’t piece together the details until after the person is gone. Rhaenyra has lost the plot at this point. Team Egg all the way now.

Strong disagree on Rhaenyra’s descent coming out of nowhere. She’s been on this trajectory since they tried to take the throne in season 1 and when Luke died. Since then, it’s just been a cascade of one thing after another for her. Aegon and Sunfyre’s resurrection was the final straw.

Great reaction as always guys! Rheanyra wasn't done as well as I'd hoped this season but her journey to Crazy Town has been coming for awhile. Ever since revenge entered her heart after the death of her son in season 1. Writers made her a bit too incompetent at times instead of being forced into cruel actions more often like in season 2. Finding riders for the dragons was cruelly done but necessary to rule. Not enough of that this season. Just her making bad decisions out of impatience or anger or inexperience

Yup, the grey mare... This show requires full attention. The call backs are not shouted in you're face like most shows. It's why bingeing these type shows makes for better viewing
