Yeah 100% started great and ended great just way too much useless filler in the middle but hopefully next season they keep the pace this episode set and end of the story well and right

It’s such a shame because when Helaena jumps from her window and dies, like she does in the book, Dreamfyre starts roaring so loudly and hysterically that the entire Dragonpit is shaking, and the two chains holding Dreamfyre break. It could have been such a beautiful final moment between Helaena and Dreamfyre. 😭

There is just no pleasing fans in this franchise lol. People said Danys flip came out of nowhere, then they try to build up to it this season and yall say it still came outta nowhere. The switch fully flipped when she found out Aegon was still alive and the news was already spreading.

I dont think yall understand the budget that goes into having the dragons on screen. This show operated on a smaller budget than most shows because of hbo. That's why it went from having 10 episode seasons down to only 8.

@Tae Kellz I think people understand, its just we got alot of dragon scenes in the show. They could have done this for Dreamfyre in place of the other less meaningful scenes. Writers hate Dreamfyre though, surpised they even gave us the crumb we got.

Yeah its a shame as there was so many parts done well just the structuring and pacing holding it back, hopefully done better next season

Just a FYI, the northern leader is Roderick Dustin, a banner man of the Starks but not one himself. Dustins are still around in GoT, Arya pretends her mother was a servant to the Dustin’s when she speaks to Tywin

Trying to equate two completely separate situations via a flimsy common denominator just to fit your agenda that GoT fans are idiots, while attempting to invalidate criticism of the OG GoT show... Well someone surely is the idiot here but I'm not sure it's who you think it is. GoT was genuinely a terrible show by the end of it, and HoTD fell off hard. That might be a hard truth for you to swallow but it simply is what it is.

I agree they set it up clear as day. But the execution of the turn was sloppy.... definitely not out of nowhere though. She was clearly always going to turn after the final shot in season 1 when she got the news of her sons death by Aemond. & they show her slowly start to trust no one & how ppl don't listen to her commands or do as they please or lie to her or betray her... This is not Season 8 of GOT where Dany goes Psycho killing millions of innocents for no reason. There's PLENTY of reason here just wasn't done the best. (Actress was fantastic and almost sold it on her own despite the blunt writing)

Even though the writing isnt as good as seasons 1 or 2... this season unquestionably improved the 2 seasons that came before it and accomplished alot.

Also episodes 5, 6, 7, 8 was the best of the season so some of the Middle they got right as well. (Episode 5 & 6 are underrated) Episode 1 is also great
