I am cackling at 26:30 “do you remember the names?” Lmaoo

Seeing Korra be legitimately scared of Amon caught me off gaurd by a lot honestly, and really made me like her character so much more. And it didn't even feel like a cheap way of doing so either, as someone with the ability to take away one of the main sources of Korra confidence would of course be a terrifying thing to go up against. It all just felt so real and so raw, I loved it. Tenzin is once again one of my favorite new characters, nuff said. His kindness to Korra is admirable, as well as everyone's admiration for him. He clearly demands so much respect and gives off an aura of authority.

Rewatching this with you guys made me realise how good the writing is in the first season

Super excited for y’all to get to season 3 and 4. ATLA is amazing but season 3 & 4 of Korra is top tier.

Korra finally admitting she was afraid was a good moment. I find overly cocky characters to be unlikable when nothing balances them out. By this episode I missed the sweet moments that ATLA included. Aang was a much more sensitive character and it was easier to connect with him. Korra, Tenzin, Lin Beifong, etc are all just brick walls and it's hard to feel connected to them right away.

Its worth noting the council represents the bender tribes (Air, North/South Water, Earth and Fire), but no non-benders.

Love your post show discussions, they are interesting. One thing TLOK nailed with the big villain's, they have depth and motivation, they can be sympathetic and scary. For me, Ozai as a character was flat and cartoonish in his evil. He barely registered overall.
