Hidy friends

Hope all is well on your end, getting back on track here but many delays after the hurricane.

Looks like we have an enormous home project to take care of, so things will soon be a little chaotic here but I'll do my best.

Just posted the review of Please Kill Me, hope you enjoy. Excellent read.

Thank you so much for your continued support.

1. Book to read Vivienne by Emmalea Russo (Paid Link)

A fictional narrative about the last lover of the artist Hans Bellmer who, after stealing Bellmer from his previous lover Wilma, who subsequently killed herself, has to contend with her dark past resurfacing.

2. The Chamber Brothers - Time Has Come TodayAs I say in the review of Please Kill Me, my father-in-law used to go to the Electric Circus, an East Village venue in NYC in the late 60's.

The Chamber Brothers were the house band. My father-in-law said they would always play this song at closing.

This was the same venue where The Velvet Underground started.

So my father-in-law unknowingly was in the middle of the very very very beginnings of Punk Rock.

Hell of a thing.

Anthony Bourdain said this song saved his life in 2010.

Great song.

3. Nick Land on Theory Underground

Nick Land wrote the greatest book on Georges Bataille I've read - 'Thirst For Annihilation' (Paid Link).

In this interview he says “Capitalism is Artificial Intelligence”.

I am fascinated.

4. Twilight Zone - The Lonely

I admit, this one made me cry.

Absolutely essential viewing.

5. Samuel Beckett's Nobel Prize Speech

Perfect.

Thanks very much to @jeu_de_mirage who sent this to me.

Glad you made it through the hurricane. Hopefully the home project isn't due to the storm. I've coincidentally been rewatching a lot of The Twilight Zone recently. I used to watch it all the time growing up and some of the episodes I haven't seen in so long they are new again. The classic episode just after "The Lonely" called "Time Enough at Last" is one of my favorite stories in any media. It is essential viewing for anyone who loves reading.
