Great timing--just finished Master & Commander and could use a new rec. (And I can hear Harold Bloom groaning in his grave at the mention of Infinite Jest.)

This video is always a highlight of the new year. Great picks. I bought Black Sun... a while back after your recommendation but will definitely have to move it up the reading list. Hope to get together again sometime in 2025 too. It's just tougher to do anything, including simple stuff like reading and grabbing coffee, with two young kids. I only got through about half the number of books I did the previous year for instance. My List: Omitted Classics Hamlet Moby Dick The Iliad 5. Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? -- Dick 4. In the Heart of the Heart of the Country -- Gass 3. A Feast of Snakes -- Crews 2. Wise Blood -- O'Connor 1. Suttree -- McCarthy

"The Double Life of Paul De Man" by Evelyn Barish. A painful deconstruction of a post-modern deconstructionist. Truly mind-blowing. If you want a copy, tell me how to buy one for you on Amazon - I have not figured that out yet.
