Salutations friends -

Editing a review of Vivienne by Emmalea Russo, I'll get that to you ASAP.

How's your evening?

Everything's fine here. Definitely not thinking about Ai or anything.

Hope all is well and thanks very much for your support.

1. Book to read: The Mirror of Simple Souls by Marguerite Porete (Paid Link)

Marguerite Porete was a 14th-century Christian mystic who was burnt at the stake for heresy by the Inquisition in Paris in 1310.

She's mentioned in Emmalea Russo's Vivienne.

2. "Night Goat" by the Melvins live at Festaal Kreuzberg 2013

Just give it a sec and wait for it with those floor toms...

Incredible opening with the dual drummers, one of them of course the legendary Dale Crover.

Used to listen to the album Houdini quite a bit in my teenage years.

3. Nick Land's "Fanged Noumena" explained in 3 minutes by the Youtuber C.J.C.

I'm impressed. Still don't understand it, but impressed.

Disturbed these days thinking about Land's Accelerationism and Ai.

I don't endorse Land's controversial views but find his earlier philosophical writings compelling. Same channel released a solid critique of him as well.

4. Bret Easton Ellis’s blunt advice to writers

Given the economic times, honestly, it ain't bad advice.

5. "Soviet poet, body-builder & futurist Vladimir Goldschmidt hypnotizing a chicken, 1923" posted on Instagram by @sovietvisuals

But...to do what exactly? And how would you know it worked?

I love this photo.

Werner Herzog claims it can be done. Unsurprisingly Herzog doesn't seem like one to shy from being accused of fowl play.
