Good evening everyone! Hope y'all are having a nice Friday. Never a dull moment is there? Currently editing my To-Be-Read 2026 video, lots of stuff I'm excited about on there, coming your way soon. Have a terrific weekend, hope you're reading something great (please let me know if so), and thank you so much for you continued support.

Short book to read: The Red Laugh by Leonid Andreyiv (Paid Link)A story about a Russian soldier fighting in Manchuria that appears to truly capture the surreal horror of war. A recommendation from friend and patron Kat - Thank you very much!

Ricky's Hand by Fad Gadget live on Belgian T.V. Can't get this out of my head. I dig the power drill. There will never be such a compellingly awkard, and simultaneously brilliant, songwriter and performer as Frank Tovey. Been listening to him on and off since I was like, 18/19? Cool documentary on him here.

Here's the track - It's a classic.Found via @musicallyproper

(New) SUNN O))) - Glory BlackVvvvvvvvvrrrrhhhhhhhh - Sweeeeet.

Michael Herr Interview ClipThe author of "Dispatches", a book about the Vietnam War that I plan to read this year.

William Shatner on going to Space"There's death there..."Wasn't expecting that reaction.

An odd steel sculpture tucked away in the 2nd floor of the local library. Couldn't find the artist info. I like it, reminds me of the Einstürzende Neubauten man.

I was very moved by what William Shatner said after he returned from space. I grew up admiring him so much as Captain Kirk, and I guess I can’t separate the actor from the character, so that his impression of the dark vastness of space really affected me.

Cliff, I just discovered Patrick Modiano. Have you reviewed his books? I have read only Missing Person, which was good. But I am gearing ready for his triöogy (on the French Resistance?)

Looking forward to your TBR for the year. I have mine ready to go for once. 😊
