Good afternoon everyone, hope this finds you well.

Thank you very much for your continued support.

1. A gift from a patron that promises to be a rough ride - Leaving Las Vegas by John O'Brien

Yeah, that's gonna be a rough one.

I haven't seen the film with Nicolas Cage yet.

Leaving Las Vegas, the first novel by John O’Brien, is the disturbing and emotionally wrenching story of a woman who embraces life and a man who rejects it. Sera is a prostitute, content with the independence and routine she has carved out for herself in a city defined by recklessness. But she is haunted by a specter in a yellow Mercedes, a man from her past who is committed to taking control of her life again. Ben is an alcoholic intent on drinking his way toward an early death. Newly arrived from Los Angeles, he survived the four-hour intoxicated drive across the desert with his entire savings in his wallet and nothing else left to lose. Looking to satisfy hungers both material and existential, Ben and Sera stumble together on the strip and discover in each other a respite from their unforgiving lives.A testimony to the raw talent of its young author, Leaving Las Vegas is a compelling story of unconditional love between two disenfranchised and lost souls—an overlooked American classic.

2. Georges Bataille's Psychoanalyst daughter Laurence who was raised by Jaques Lacan

Ain't that a hell of a story?

3. Brazil by Old Blue Eyes

Love this song.

4. The Amazing Story of Fellini directing Marcello during the shooting of La Dolce Vita as told by Marcello Mastroianni to Roger Ebert (La Dolce Vita is Ebert's favorite film)

Amazing.

What a perfect comedic real-life moment in a stunning contrast to an iconic scene.

5. A talented musician who is also capturing beautiful photos of Lisbon Portgual

Mr. Pereira is really bringing out the stunning beauty of that city.

I posted it on Instagram, but for those of you who have not seen it, Chris from Leaf by Leaf and I are talking about doing a collaboration video.

Any suggestions on what we should discuss?

Always glad to see your appreciation for Portugal (especially Lisbon)!

I like the list-styled video you did with RC. Gives you both an opportunity to talk about a variety of books in the context of a relatively informal forum. 5 books you each disliked? 5 that surprised you? Etc. Alternatively, what if you each recommended a book to each other (based on some sort of criteria) and then you each have to post a review of the other’s recommendation on your respective channels? Could be fun.

Just spitballing-- Speaking of Ebert, might be interesting to have you two mutually review an agreed-upon book and get a type of Siskel/Ebert dialogue goin. Or maybe an author retrospective where you kinda give an overview of one author's entire body of work? Def curious to see how'd you both tackle the same subject on a critical evaluation level since Leaf seems to prefer maximalist lit and ya seem to prefer the sound and fury of quick 150-pagers. Just a bored booktube bro on a Friday night and your reviews are my comfy getaway, so take my word with a grain of salt. Also Julio's pics are badass

It would be funny if you and Chris just talked about music and film. No books at all.

Chris had some awesome reviews on Proust. Also Roberto Bolaño. Clifford, you and Chris are the only 2 book guys I spend time with. You are both very different from one another, but I deeply appreciate both of you.

You guys should discuss the pros and cons of mustaches.
