Better Than Friday - 115 (Patreon)

Howdy ya'll

Hope you're having a fine Friday, just shot a review for Leon Bloy's 'Disagreeable Tales', I recommend. He's a strange character to say the least.

Thanks as always for your support.

1. A recent recommendation - The Vivisector by Patrick White

Man. That cover is intense even for me.

But the Australian author Patrick White comes highly recommended, and the introduction is by J.M. Coetzee.

------------------------------------------

Hurtle Duffield, a painter, coldly dissects the weaknesses of any and all who enter his circle. His sister's deformity, a grocer's moonlight indiscretion, the passionate illusions of the women who love him-all are used as fodder for his art. It is only when Hurtle meets an egocentric adolescent whom he sees as his spiritual child does he experience a deeper, more treacherous emotion in this tour de force of sexual and psychological menace that sheds brutally honest light on the creative experience.

2. Contain podcast

I've been exploring the work of podcaster Barret Avner.

This is an interview with a fellow who creates 3D-Printed guns.

Really compelling, I'm interested to see where this guy takes the podcast.

3. C’mon man!

“Space. The final frontporch...”

Hysterical and horrific.

4. The Soup Nazi

It’s still good.

5. The Misfits

Loved em since I was a teenager. Still sounds just as good. Danzig era only, naturally.

Would've been incredible to see them live.
