Goood evening ya'll, beginning to think about my 'Best of' list for 2022.

'The Passenger' will certainly be on it.

Hope you have a very nice weekend, and it's not too cold yet, wherever you are.

1. Book I'd like to read - The Fatal Shore by Robert Hughes

A non-fiction book on the dark history and formation of Australia.

2. William Gaddis on wanting to write vs wanting to be a writer

Wise words from a master.

I really need to (re)review The Recognitions

3. Fell into a heavy Boy Harsher vibe

Something about driving at night along the Floridian beach strip to this.

4. William Gass Interview with Michael Silverblatt

"The first novella I ever wrote, 'The Pederson Kid', was deliberately restrictive because I knew that my very nature, my fundamental nature, was unbridled soggy romanticism."

This guy is a character.

I have yet to read his novels but am looking forward to them.

5. Casual violence in cartoons is hysterical

Also, Abbot and Costello are the greatest.

The Pederson Kid is so so so good. A guy on the discord server said he always read it on the first snow of the year and I followed suit. Absolutely amazing.
