Happy St. Patties ya'll

Hope you're well and drinking something delicious, whatever it may be.

Enjoying Camus' 'The Myth of Sisyphus' - Review coming soon.

And as Laura Palmer said, meanwhile...

1. Book on my shelf to read - Ubik by Philip K. Dick

I can't make heads or tails of this plot but it sounds like fantastic bizarre mindfuck science fiction. It appears Roberto Bolaño was a fan.

2. The Night Porter

Dirk Bogarde plays a former SS Officer in hiding in an Italian Hotel after the war, and one night he runs into a previous Jewish prisoner played by Charlotte Rampling whom he fell in love with but was separated postwar.

An exceptionally good challenging film directed by Liliana Cavani, and one of the darkest onscreen love stories I've encountered.

3. Enter The Void Intro

Gaspar Noé's epic and ambitious portrayal of psychedelic drugs and the afterlife.

All of the film is shot from the POV of a young man who gets shot and killed in Tokyo while high on DMT.

Great scene here. And this track used in the film is sooo dope.

4.”Bailout! It’s gonna be a bailout.”

Died laughing. Sometimes feels like these are the folks calling the shots.

5. Camille Paglia on her Writing Process

I'm currently floored by Sexual Personae.

This is obscene.

UBIK! PHILIP K DICK! YES! I loved Philip k dick. I've read his exgeise which is a phenomenal powerhouse combining existential philosophy with a single profound religious experience. UBIK's just so weird and wild. PKD also wrote one of the best books on drugs I've ever read a scanner darkly on par with fear and loathing to me. Not as fun but alot more personal and profound.

We’re on a sync this year. Just read Ubik (right after Threshold) last month! Had a blast, definitely a good read & probably my favorite of his that I’ve read. Cheers man. Having an Irish cream Porter and made a stew.

As far as Camille Paglia goes, anyone that calls Emily Dickinson an "autoerotic sadist" definitely has my attention.

Reading Ubik was great fun! Great mind twister!
