Good Saturday morning everyone, thanks for your patience, had a busy week.

Hope this finds you well, wherever you may be.

Here's some stuff to enjoy with your coffee or morning beverage of choice.

1. Book gifted to me by a kind patron: The Glamour by Christopher Priest

A novel about a cameraman trying to recover his memory after being injured.

I've not yet read Priest but this comes highly recommended from a fellow with great taste.

Thanks very much Andrew!

2. An interview with Junji Ito

A kind patron suggested I begin reviewing his work. I'm considering it.

Never been a huge graphic novel guy but I have nothing against them, and Ito's illustrations are outrageously disturbing while simultaneously something to marvel at.

"I wasn't consciously aiming for body horror, I believe the human mind is the scariest part of oneself."

Makes total sense that he was a Dental Technician.

Unrelated, that jacket he's wearing is impeccable.

3. Psycho by Eddie Noack

A demented country murder ballad.

Fine cover made by the Australian rock band 'Beasts of Bourbon' with a strange, innovative music video -

which went on to directly inspire the lewd 'Touch the Leather' video by the oddball rock outfit 'The Fat White Family'.

4. When I think of inflation I think of this scene

It really is a classic.

5. Bringing Out The Dead

Somehow missed this Scorsese film growing up. Recommended by Mom. Nicolas Cage nails it of course. Ving Rhames is great as well.

Totally ambiguous ending. I'd like to read the book by Joe Connelly, who was himself a medic in Hell's Kitchen for 10 years.

Yeah! Bringing Out the Dead! It's an odd film . . . It really works for me though. Glad you enjoyed it

Highly recommended monsters by Barry Windsor-smith if your interested in graphic novels. Dark, melancholic, and good story telling. Also check out near mint condition for a good graphic novel and comic YouTube channel.
