Better Than Friday - 221 (Patreon)

Seasons Greetings Ya'll, thanks so much for your continued support.

Hope you're keeping warm if you're in Northern climates.

1. A recent recommendation from Kit Schluter: Pascal Quignard's 'A Terrace in Rome' (paid link)

The story of a 17th-century engraver whose face is destroyed by acid thrown in his face by the fiance of a woman he slept with.

I've not yet read anything by the compelling French author Pascal Quignard.

Looking forward to it.

2. Feast of Death - James Ellroy doc

Ellroy actually visits the cold-case files warehouse in the LA county Sheriff's Department where his mother's case file is located. She was murdered in 1958, and her case was never solved.

Not for the faint of heart. A great documentary.

3. Waxies Dargle by The Pogues

Rest in Peace Shane Macgowan.

4. Dream Scenario with Nicolas Cage

This was the last good thing we saw in the theater. Cage is perfect.

5. Japanese Hand Signals

I'm considering incorporating some of these. I love the glasses wiggle.
