Hey everyone!

A new digital product has been added to the store: a face mount for GoPro cameras. Of course, you can use widely available cheap mounts like head straps or mouth mounts, but personally, I found they didnโ€™t work as well as I wanted (I havenโ€™t tested mouth mounts because they seemed like a crazy idea to me from the start ๐Ÿ˜‚).

The attached video goes into more detail. I hope you enjoy it!

GoPro Hero 12 Face Mount Based On VR Goggles ๐Ÿ‘€

I'm excited to finally share this video with you, introducing the GoPro face mount Iโ€™ve been working on! This mount is perfect for capturing FPV footage with optimal camera placement, and I hope it proves useful to many of you, not just the sim racing community. Whether you're into FPV, or simply want a comfortable, ergonomic way to mount your GoPro, I believe this design can make a real difference. Thanks for your support, and I look forward to hearing how it works for you! And what are your impressions? Does it fit well and feel comfortable? Have you used foam pads?

SimuSami

I tested it without foam padding as i need to buy today some (didnt had time to visit shop yeasterday). It works great, it might be i need to do some adjustment for shape of it but i see how foam pads affect general feeling of it. There could be few improvements done like example holder to HMDI and USB cable.

EVERLOST

Yeah, I thought about it, but I decided not to attach it rigidly to the main body. It's very easy to achieve by adding such holders to the strap. We all have different faces, so it's impossible to perfectly fit everything with one model, but foam pads should generally help. The ergonomics were inspired by VR headset goggles, and besides that shape, all goggles have rubber or foam insulation to fit different faces perfectly. Itโ€™s logical, but it's worth mentioning.

SimuSami

Yes i acknoledge and know different face sizes. I have had five different VR heatsets and i always printed to both Pimax and HP Reverb 3rd party frames as default didnt fit well to my face. So that being said maybe foam pads might help or i need to edit 3d model little bit to fit my shape of face. Above don't put your genious and great product value down, it is just fact that very rarely one size fits perfect for all. I am very happy for product.

SimuSami

Ok i tested yeasterday with foam pads i inserted and i need to concluded that basic model is too narrow for my shape face. Foam cushions help little bit. So what i did i took model to 3d software and edited that little bit making frame little bit wider and not too deep (less curve). I printed first test frame of upper part to check how it fits to my head and edited a little bit and now i am printing draft test version. Once i find model shape which fits comfortable in my melon head i will share it naturally for you if you want to put as part of your model package or if you wish to make using that shape official version for persons who have bigger and wider face/haed.
