Oh joy!! sad boyz has arrived right on time!!!

Denisa

This is the perfect way to wind down my day!

Kat Bat

Oh god, the "we've met before" makes me want to fill my pockets with rocks and walk into a river. I have a garbage memory and forget meeting people all the time. When I'm greeting someone I remember but am only slightly acquainted, I try to front-load with: "Hey, we haven't crossed paths since xyz-event. How have you been?" I'll usually also reintroduce myself because unfortunately the only names I remember are dog names. I have zero retention for people names. Take from that what you will. 😅

Hannah K

I appreciate your sign off on the main episode, sometimes you *do* have to be a mini sausage dog out in the Australian wilderness of your feelings. Hang tough, boyz and their team.

Lynn Baker

gotta say.. I'm accidentally guilty of the "we've met before" faux pas. it was meant to be light-hearted, not condescending at all. my mouth moves faster than my brain and it's truly haunted me ever since. 💀

Jasmine

Link is such a silly guy, I love his vibe, but the beginning of Jordan's story did scare me when I forgot this was a public figure you were talking about lol. Social anxiety fears him

Jacob

Not my autistic ass learning “we’ve met before” is rude and being stun locked with mortification at all the times I’ve done it. 😬

Dip

I feel like its normal to forget people so when I say something like "oh yeah we've met before, nice to see you again!" I don't mean a single thing by it other than "oh yeah we've met before, nice to see you again!" If I didn't say that I would feel weird and like I'm hiding something lmao

Reilly Mowatt

Gattaca is one of my all time favorite movies I need everyone to watch it

Ginger

LINK NEAL?!

Elizabeth Darling

Omg the last section is so sad because we all clearly love you all.

Corarii

love you so bad first arctic monkeys album

Sleepy Vamp

Every once in a while my friends will put on a early 2000s playlist with a sensory dancing fruit video for the visualizer. The fruit are always to the beat somehow and going crazy style on it.

SatansGotMilk

Not wanting to be perceived during a low period is so valid though. I go back to work after my surgery tomorrow and I'm still a little swollen and brusied and overall not happy existing and the social aspect of people asking about it is what I have the most anxiety about.

Cameron M.

Relating so hard to Jarvis' Anxieties on comments.

Meredith

I’m also rewatching dr. who rn!

Mr. Spice

How did I know it was link 😭

Tabitha

22:00 that’s the point! the visual helps children understand and identify beats in the music which helps with development! it has been co-opted by fully grown adults, mostly who are consuming substances, but hey i love the whimsy!

garbobarge

I relate SO much to what Jarvis was talking about. I think for me right now, my mental health is preventing me from being the version of myself that I like, like it's preventing me from doing the things I get satisfaction and fulfilment from. But then, I feel even more crap because I know I could be doing so much more if I didn't have this mental state. And then I just feel ashamed for not accomplishing enough, which makes me feel worse, and then I can do even less of the things that make me fulfilled. It's such a vicious cycle. And Jarvis has said this before, you know that you just have to ride the feeling out and you will eventually figure it out, but right now it sucks just feeling stuck in that feeling.

EmElla

Hello from someone also in a sensitive, depressive, can’t-stand-to-be-perceived, I-haven’t-done-enough place. Jarvis, thank you for your vulnerability and openness, and for continuing to work so hard through this time of your life. The content is still top tier and the relatability means a lot.

EmElla

Oh and HAPPY BIRTHDAY JORDAN AND JARVIS!

John Brown Social Club

I hope Jordan, Jarvis and Anastasia are able to better give themselves some grace in the future. You guys are doing such an amazing job at growing yourselves, your careers, and your communities. Sad Boyz has been such a great podcast for me, and it has been such a relief to just to know that there are people out there with the same thoughts, feelings, and experiences as myself. I appreciate all the work you guys do every week, and remember that it's about progress, not perfection! Enjoy the growing process! Laugh at your mistakes, or if you can't do that, forgive yourselves and move on. I look forward to Sad Boyz every week, and it's one of the brightest spots of my week.

LIJOUE

I don’t think it’s inherently rude, but it really depends on your tone and the context. Might be better to avoid the phrase going forward just to be safe, but don’t stress about it if you’ve said it before. It may not have been interpreted as rude.

An August Virgo

I can say the same for me, it is so refreshing to watch people talk about topics and have opinions I agree on, they're all doing an amazing job!

Jesse D

If I could share something personal: A few years ago my mom had a stroke. She lost her memory and sight, and some other general functions. The family gathered to discuss it, for better or worse. Then called her. I remember not being ready, or feeling ready to see her like that. But my sister shoved the phone in my face anyway. Of all the people she talked to, my mom didn't recognize me or remember me. And I had to pretend it was ok. So I feel you at 17:37 ish.

James Hunter

I will say, having had benefitted an insane amount from you guys having emotionally vulnerable conversations- hearing you guys say “we’re not gonna talk about this, maybe later… things feel bad rn and that’s all you need to know” feels absolutely amazing

Lilly

I felt this

As an early childhood teacher with experience in child development research, I can confidently say the only thing cocomelon can help with is delayed cognitive development D:

thedimreaper

My brother’s name is Sean and my mom regularly calls me Shmaxwell. To the point that some of my friends call me that 😂

Uel

Jordan saying “your mum, mate” when Anastasia says “your mom” absolutely sent me.

Ro

Shout out to the Palmer's cocoa butter lotion! I too keep it next to me on the sofa at all times.

Amalie Lind Ravn

I'm the worst at recognising people to the point that twice in the past couple of years I've failed to recognise my *uncle*. To be fair the first time I failed to recognise him it'd been 12 years since I saw him last. On the other hand, he does look like a shorter version of my dad, so it should be quite obvious. Not to me though. Was very awkward both times.

j00sikah

The cocomelon call felt weirdly nostalgic. In the 90s, there were numbers in the phone book that my grandparents would let me call. Idk if they were free but it would read you a story over the phone.

The King of Tiny Accidents

Y’know what not to be the too woke friend but I’m not giving any positive energy for Link, a behemoth of a man, freaking out a woman in a grocery store unprompted just because he could. That’s not okay at all. Like it freaked out Jordan this much, god that’s really tone deaf to do to a woman if she’s your friend let alone to find out it’s a stranger. You can apologize to your friend and laugh it off. He just made some random woman’s day way more existentially terrifying because he thought it was funny. Like babe u couldn’t waterboard that out of me

Ben Hillard

I don't think you're the "too woke friend". I do think that we need to give some grace here, I'm sure many of us in fact all of us have been guilty of the "But it's me" thought in our head. And we also need to take into account that we are hearing this story second hand so we don't know if he ever actually apologized or if that was left out. I'm not trying to excuse anything I'm just trying to give perspective of. I'm sure we've all been in a situation where we thought we were doing something fun and innocuous and it made someone else uncomfortable.
