This is about the main episode but I didnt want it to get lost in a horde of comments. I graduated with a degree in computer science last year (December), and it took me over 350 applications to receive even a single interview. I am, to this day, receiving job rejections. People always used to laugh at my sister for getting an English degree because she wouldn't be able to find work, but it took me nearly 4x as long to find a basic, low-paying comp sci job. The average job i applied to had around 200-1000 applicants within the first 48 hours of posting.

One niche thing I feel like is VERY Gen Z cringe is those quirky bumper stickers that are like “Please be nice to me, I’m 6 years old” or some sort of “ironic” nihilistic humor—bunnies and rainbows paired with “I have depression” or something. They’re funny sometimes but it’s the kind of trying too hard that I think we’ll look back at and cringe.

in 2020 gen z and millennial cringe were def same thing different font. in the big 25? post something like that bella porch video on instagram and get called a slur. i obvi dont think thats good for society, but that is the case. Also, correct me if im wrong, but lol xd random humor def revolves around the fact that it’s random, right? Like the joke is oh im so quirky. But like, modern lobotomy core videos are definitely random, but the joke is more comparable to jingling keys than ‘quirky’ humor (i say this as an enjoyer of lobotomy, i feel there’s a science behind making a video so specifically and intentionally non sensical that it becomes funny). In like 5 years at most, lobotomy is going to be cringe simply because it’s old. Aside from the genuine differences, that’s why i feel like its so easy to hate millennial ‘cringe’ if youre a gen z person just because it feels like your friend that wont let a bit die. If it were the 2000s/2010s we’d all be laughing along with everything we call cringe now

Hey Jordan! Just wanted to point out that covid didn't end, people just stopped talking about it/taking precautions. When the mask mandate lifted in my province (in Canada 2022), hundreds died, when previously we had lost only a few people province wide. Our gvt very much chose to devalue the lives of our elderly and immunocompromised. I still advocate for masking, because covid is still airborne and still kills

as an early 90s baby, I can relate to a lot of things from Gen Z but I'm a millennial, also noticed a lot of the cringy stuff is coming from white creators

The generations thing is so meaningless really. The people who fussed about it first called themselves 'the greatest generation' i'm not playing their dumb game. Also whatever is decided will get changed. I was born in 1981 and they were back then claiming that early 70s were Gen X, Late 70s is Gen Y, and 80+ was Gen Z. They were being that specific back then and it's been changed SO MANY TIMES in the next few decades. I get told i'm a baby boomer sometimes, those are my parents generation. Really baby boomers and post-lock down generations are really the only ones that needed specifications to them because of their extreme circumstances. We don't need to really group people outside of that it doesn't do anything at all.
