hi queens

Jay

It’s my birthday!!

Ben Hillard

I have such mixed feelings about crunchyroll/Sony everything. I absolutely love having most of what I need in one spot, but I cannot imagine it's good for negotiating actors (assuming they aren't SAG) or necessarily for up and coming creators.

Spoder Thing

I love natewantstobattle lol

RESanaconda

Omg the gasp I let out while listening to this at work when Peeps mentioned Natewantstobattle!!! I love him so much and I’ve been listening to him for years and it feels great knowing other fans are out there

Finch <3

hell yeah i know about natewantstobattle 🔥

Aled

very proud to know all of the battle of new orleans song from the lego music video somebody made

Tom Bonnie

Wooo Digimon mentioned!!!

Dan

You guys reminded me of this thing we had to watch at uni as part of our philosophy class, which was all about if film is a medium you can do philosophy through, and it was this guy who had to remake this short film like 5 times, with a different constraint each time and it was fascinating, but for the life of me I can’t remember what it was called

Erin

Lmao I had no idea Kim Jong min was a signer bc I only know him from variety shows

Dan

Also, my own instance with ‘the one song is actually a mash up of two songs’ is SHINee’s Sherlock, I know it has (Clue + Note) next to it but for the longest time I didn’t realise clue and note were two songs that got put together to make Sherlock, a truly iconic song

Patrick

Digimon rules!

CJ

Natewantstobattle mentioned 🫵🫵

Moon_Roon_

LETS GO NATEWANTS TO BATTLE MENTIONED THAT WAS MY CHILDHOOD

ImpishAngel

NWTB LETS GOOOOOOO, I still listen to homie’s original stuff like a decade later! Goes to show considering I’m pretty sure I’m the same age as peeps lmao

GodBoko

Happy birthday!

Jori

My brother had the soundtracks for things like Beyblade, The SpongeBob Squarepants Movie, Jimmy Neutron, and Like Mike.... and they all slapped.

Simy Kaur

maybe The Five Obstructions (Jørgen Leth & Lars von Trier, 2003). I'm Danish, and this is pretty much a staple of Danish media curriculum in schools (where I watched it the first time) and in the BA in Film Studies (where I watched it a second time) :)

Sephhhsmh

Dungeon meshi mention! Now I'm curious if the photos I posted in the discord of my cosplay made it to them by any chance (obviously unrelated tho) that would be so cool 😁 great episode team!

Elizabeth Darling

Jarvis, do you want to come over and watch the entirety of the Adventures of Mary Kate and Ashley detective movies?

Dan

That’s exactly it! Thank you so much! :D

Justin Wagner

I'm here with you for the Nate love Peeps.

Le-Ki

“I need the story to be completed before you’ve started development” got into mha at 16 and it ended terribly when I was 23. I’m right there with you, Brian

Dex

I can't remember anything about the Digimon movie, other than the Angela Anaconda preroll. That is permanently burned into my brain.

mastyza

just letting peeps know I know Nate wants to battle 👍

SammyCat

the letterboxd recognition we needed (sammycat on 🟠🟢🔵)

Mo Wizdumb

I am the person in the audience who watches Korean variety shows and omg i never knew that about Kim Jong Min

Dani_gw

Omg rare Baccano mention! One of my all-time favorite anime! And yes Peeps is not alone. I had a heavy Nate Wants to Battle phase

Bun

The Digimon movie was the best. I didn't realise it was made up of 3 films

Bun

Omg I hated Angela Anaconda

Steff

The Digimon movie omg my childhood 😭 love that movie! I had the soundtrack on CD too. I love this episode so much lol all the Digimon talk (season 1 and 2 had me in a chokehold as a kid lmao still love them....though the rest of the seasons I was very meh about) and the Fushigi Yuugi mention!! I was also obsessed with that as a kid lol also with the whole sub/dub thing, one of the big ones that really lead me to stick to mostly subs was Cardcaptors/Cardcaptor Sakura. The difference was mind blowing to young me haha CCS was so good I never watched Cardcaptors again 😂

Steff

Omg additional comment (this episode subject matter is great lol), but speaking of things not being finished before development, hard agree, because the D.Gray-Man anime killed me when I was younger; the ending was so abrupt and unsatisfying. Also, Gundam Wing was yet another favorite of mine and I also had the soundtrack on CD 😂 I got it from some anime store that was in the galleria eons ago. Man I miss those kinds of places sometimes, it was so fun as a kid in the early 2000s to wander around and see what neat stuff they had; it was one of the only/easiest ways to get Japanese and anime related stuff.

Steff

For real, the art style was sf ugly imo lol

Bri H

natewantstobattle mentioned ‼️‼️‼️‼️

Bri H

i see you peeps 🫡

This Digimon: the Movie tangent was extremely my shit because I revisited it a couple of years ago for a cartoon podcast I listen to, and was EXTREMELY confused when it started with fucking Angela Anaconda, and still very confused throughout the film when it made very little sense. It's INSANE that the studio and producers were ultimately just like "yeah, this is fine, whatever" and put it out as is, with that goddamn Angela Anaconda wraparound that is for NO ONE.

MippyMoo

NATEWANTSTOBATTLE MOMENT

Mairu

NATEWANTSTOBATTLE?????

Jetstar245

Shout out Jarvis for doing digimon movie hyperfixation during the month it takes place 🙌

Levi Venn

20 years ago a coworker of mine gave me a mixed CD and there was an adorable bubbly song that I listened to every single day. Two years ago I found out it was the theme song to Urusei Yatsura (Lum no Love Song).

Sierra

Was definitely watching / listening to natewantstobattle lmao

aritchie

Ahh!! Just listed to this one and Digimon The Movie reference. I'm always so pumped to hear someone else watched and loved that one. Truly the most insane soundtrack for anime subbed movie. I will never get over it. My sister actually hid the VHS from me when I was a kid because I used to watch on repeate for hours of no one stopped me 😂

Eddie

I bet the video on the Wizards reboot Peeps was talking about was the Keyan Carlile one

aloe

GATCHIAKUTA MENTIONED!!!!

aloe

really loved the anime tangent on this one. i havent watched any since 14 and i just recently got back into it at 19 and its so nice to just rewatch and discover new stuff its great.

aloe

nickyyy777
