Anastasia being a toothie and having gone on a tooth and claw tour is my fav podcast crossover. When are we getting Wes on sad boyz or Anastasia on tooth and claw????

Libby

Chat im looking for the main episode that people coined the “come as you are episode” in the comments. Everyone was sad and just rotted together lol. Does anyone have ideas on what ep it could be?

Phoebe C

i really appreciate this episode, thank you both for being real and honest about grief and death. My dad’s pretty sick atm but he also survived a stroke just before i was born. So i’ve always been so aware of his mortality. Now he’s having issues with his heart my feelings about his death are so very different to my siblings (my siblings and i have between 16-30 year age gaps, i’m the youngest). This ep has been comforting in a weird way as my whole life it’s been hard to find commonality or even have a comfortable conversation with friends, and now my dads sick people just don’t know how to approach it at all. Which is understandable but why i really appreciate both of you for sharing your experiences.

Jayce

Holy fuck!!! My favorite boys and Anastascia talk about childhood grief right at the time of year i struggle with it the most. As always, thanks guys, great episode. You really don't see many other adults who are willing to talk so openly about this stuff.

Bro I didn't know who my dad was for so long, then at 30, my older half sis contacted me. It. Was and still is an absolute roller-coaster of family drama. I suddenly found myself to be an inadequate sister and niece to people I had literally not known existed.

Yayyyyy Jacob 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻

Thank you both so much for opening up about your grief. I've been thinking about the subject a lot lately so this came at the perfect time to make me feel less alone

Alicia Polley

hope this isn’t weird but it was so lovely listening to you guys being so open about your experiences with grief 🫶🏽 also completely unrelated but im always kindve sidelined by anastasia’s age, like obviously she’s not old at all but in my mind i’m always like yeah she’s like jarvis and jordan’s age and then i think about the one million lives she’s led and it makes sense lol

phogul

We love you Anastasia!!!!!!

Kate McCormack

Listening to this episode made me feel less alone in the childhood grief department ❤️ also I love Anastasia so much the parasocial relationship is real 😂

garbobarge

One reason I love the pod and continue to pay for the patreon is I just love the way you guys make me feel less alone. I live on another continent and my family dynamic was similar yet different, and I relate so so much. I also spend a lot of time thinking about “why me” like what was special about me that meant I didn’t go down the same path as others. It’s almost like a survivors guilt, like how did I get out but others around me didn’t. I think what Jarvis and Anastasia experienced is profound childhood neglect, which is what I went through. Neglect is so hard to come to terms with because the absence of care is so nebulous. And at the same time I get a sense from Jarvis and Anastasia that they don’t want to blame the adults in their lives because they were just trying to survive too. I’m in my 30s too and still learning about my past and unlearning damaging patterns but it’s so hard. Anyway thank you for being vulnerable, thank you for sharing, and I just hope you guys know how important and healing the podcast is.

Julia Collins

Always appreciate when you guys talk about the heavy stuff. I love when Sad Boyz feels like therapy, because even if your experiences are different from mine, hearing about how you've processed or dealt with things and hearing you articulate them to each other makes me think about my own stuff in a way that feels useful. And I also feel like the love and respect you all have for each other always comes through, so you should know that!

SammyCat

What a great episode. I love hearing from Anastasia too

THAT BOOK EXISTS I READ IT AS A KID AND I CANT FIND IT

It's some disease that kills people when they turn 18, basically the minor's apocalypse

Hope Jordan ended up feeling better quickly! Stomach stuff is a special kind of not fun. This episode was really meaningful, I love the pod so much because of how open y'all are about serious topics; it makes things feel less isolating when hearing from people who you can relate to. And y'all have a good balance, imo, of mixing in of lighter hearted episodes as well. I've seen comments occasionally on the YouTube channel, that complain about the serious topics that come up, but I always found it a bit strange to do so considering this is called Sad Boyz lol; kinda gives a clue about what contents will be present lol.

Steff

[Wrt to the talk about coyotes]. I'm rusty on remembering from my wildlife and fisheries sciences classes lol, but the almost complete annilation of wolves left an open predator niche and contributed to the coyotes being able to spread. It's definitely very good to try and scare away the coyotes and other large wildlife that wander into urban areas; it's called "humane harassment", and it's actually incredibly important to do so, for the wellbeing and safety of both animals and people! 🐺 I love coyotes tbh they've had such a rough go of it for so long, it's really impressive how they've been able to adapt and still survive (and thrive in some places). They're such scrappy survivors, it's impressive. It's also messed up that they've had to be so. They've been here present for hundreds of years, and are just trying to survive in their natural habitat, where people have continuously destroyed and encroached on. People speak about and treat them so disgustingly cruelly, it's honestly disturbing. I'm familiar with wildlife management, but it should be done humanely even if they end up being culled 🙁

Steff

[Yeesh sorry for multiple comments; can't make paragraphs work on mobile so trying to avoid a massive block of text 😑]. Hard agree, fuck Jeff Sessions 1000%, that nasty waste of space little nasty gremlin (insult to gremlins tbh).

im so glad i found this podcast. my dad died very suddenly two years ago and i started taking care of my mom right after. it felt like i lost both of my parents in a sense and had to start navigating the world alone. listening to you, jordan, and anastasia talk about grief and your experiences has helped me feel less alone in what im going through. thank you guys :,)

Annie Crocker

ANASTASIA THE ANGRY NEEDING TO PEE THING IS SO REAL i do that at work ALL THE TIME lmao

Eddie

👏

mon

always appreciate an episode where things get deep. it makes me feel grounded to hear you guys speak about the hard things that you’ve gotten through. definitely feels like having older cousins who can say “we did it, so you can too” <3

Dex

I wonder if they would consider having Hasan back on. I recognize this politics "heavy" episode is a rarity, and of course don't have to talk about politics with Hasan, and yeah there might be some blowback having him on, coming from his haters. Watching the old episode from 2 years ago, I like how you all interact.

Olivia Johnson

i loved this episode. also, love seeing anastasia on camera 🖤

Shannon

I've been sad a lot lately and this episode was really lovely to listen to. Always have a fun time listening and watching, but it hit just a little different this time. Thanks y'all ♥️ (And hope your foot gets better soon, Jacob!)

Eden ⭐️

This episode is so good :( love you guys <3

Angelica Shipps

I love this ep! The ones with Anastasia are my fav! That's my girl! Sorry Jarvis and Jordan. ( Still love y'all) Also am I the only one that uses having to pee as a timer to get something done. I might be. lol

Alexis Moyle

Love seeing Anastasia and oof this episode hit close to home

ThePorpoise

I quite literally only came to the Patreon video just to reiterate how irritating it is that you guys consistently cut anastasia off in the rudest of ways, CONSTANTLY, in your videos. As a channel that's supposed to be promoting good mental practices and awareness and all that good shit. It genuinely frustrates the living hell out of me how decisively you BOTH cut anastasia off on a regular basis. I can understand cutting off a fellow coworker for a podcast show in the agenda of focusing on the narrative you want to express. But the way you guys cut her off, does not support that focus, and just comes across as assholeish. you can literally hear how dejected she becomes in a lot of the conversations when these moments happen. It's a reocurring theme and does not speak well to a viewer that notices.

ThePorpoise

And to be fair, this isnt just with anastasia, i've seen this happen with jordan as well.

ThePorpoise

and now, I know i'm going on a bit of rant here, but the importance of this doesn't stop at those that DO notice, as i pointed out in the first bit. I personally believe this also has a small effect on people who DON'T think about it consciously, and will simply reiterate the behavior because it's what they see on the regular from you guys. To be fair, I wouldn't give a fuck if this was any other random youtube channel, but the way you guys brand yourselves and propagate an idea of good mental health practices and social interaction, this shit does not do that.

ThePorpoise

apologies for anyone that feels triggered about a dude speaking on behalf of a woman's issue to the point of "white knighting," but i feel as though i've been watching this shit happen for like YEARS, and no one ever seems to be saying anything in the comments about this shit.

ThePorpoise

Still fuck witchall though

AbeilleAbbie

thank you so much for sharing this 🫂 i feel so honored. i really appreciate this kind of opening up, and i think it helps us all process our own traumas and connect as humans. truly living up to the ethos of the podcast 💞💞💞

EmElla

Hi, Porpoise. I understand how you might come to that conclusion. However, I encourage you to enjoy keeping on the deep dive. I think you may come to a very different understanding. Anastasia is hardly a shrinking violet, and I am certain that if she wanted the episodes to be edited differently, they would be.

Diana

You might have too much time on your hands. Hobbies are helpful; I enjoy playing guitar when I get amped up.

Tiffany Steeley

As someone who grew up in poverty with abuse and neglect but has gotten lucky as well, I appreciate you guys sharing❤️

mango :3

desperately need to know where anastasia got her sweater

mango :3

as a listener who lost their dad at 16 to an autoimmune disease i will always always always be so grateful for how open you guys are to talking about your grief and lost loved ones on this show. i too find that i tend to connect most with people who experienced grief early on in their lives and so (without seeming too parasocial) sometimes it almost feels like i was always meant to find sad boyz one way or another. appreciate you guys!

Mr. Nurse Mom

Not related to the main points of this ep, but dang some of the filament 3D printers nowadays can make some incredibly good looking products. My Bambu printers can get extremely good detail and smoothness.

Ali

Omg I feel the not being told stuff, I remember I was picked up after school by my mum unexpectedly and she was like "Did the teachers tell you?" I was like "No, what happened?" And it turned out my sister had attempted suicide and was in hospital, my mum had asked the teachers to tell me and they hadn't because "we saw him and he just looked so happy, we didn't want to upset him"?? Like I can understand the awkwardness around that, my mum should be the one to tell me but damn, she asked you to let me know? Plus it upset me much more not knowing! And if I hadn't have been walking my friend out to her parents' car, I wouldn't have known my mum was even there Luckily my sister was okay, is now doing very well living her best life ❤️ but damn that messed with me for a bit

Tyler French

I really enjoyed this episode. As 2026 is beginning, I am working through unresolved grief in preparation for the likely passing of several of my family members. I really appreciate that you guys feel comfortable talking freely about your grief because it makes me feel like I will eventually be okay.

Sam Sharp

It is crazy what your kid brain finds to feel guilty for in those situations. I remember feeling guilty that I didn't run fast enough across the street to get help when my mom died. I think part of it is trying to find some way to make sense of the tragedy and feel some control in a situation where you have none. For years after, I would sometimes watch my grandmother sleep to make sure she was still breathing. I thought that if I was proactive enough and could get help in a timely enough manner, no one I loved would ever die again. Spoiler alert, unfortunately not how it works.
