I didn’t expect this to come out so soon but was really looking forward to it from the teaser. Absolutely loving the crazy length and depth on these videos!

The Menagerie

Oh hey! Haven't watched this yet but I'm wondering if you're going to bring up the Imperial event since it seems like it just put the inhumans back into play

Redicular

just want to state before even hitting play... I very much love popping in and seeing 2hr+ runtime... the effort and longform content is appreciated

Style from Krakoa

Almost two and a half hour video?! Buckle the fuck in Lore Junkies. This is gunna rule.

べソ

Honestly I like Lockjaw’s original backstory (minus the “it hurts to speak” thing) because I love innocuous, fun characters with INSANE dark lore. Peak comedy. But I also think the way they retconned it is one of the funniest retcons I’ve heard of.

Silas

The fact that they tried to kill off the X-Men in the 2010’s, when they couldn't even get away with killing Optimus Prime in the 80’s is honestly baffling.

The Menagerie

Hell yeah you did. I genuinely like this being the reintroduction of the inhumans. It puts them in a slightly villainous position that allows for potentially intresting things.

Colin Peacock

Thanks for the video! I'd be curious for a Midnight Suns video if that sounds fun to you

べソ

Also as a loyal Dropout subscriber my head cocked when you mentioned BLeeM. That makes sense given your penchant for D&D lol

YaBoiTibalt

I cannot wait for the 3+ hour eldrac the door video

Archaeogrrrl

I love you SO HARD for these epic tomes. Thank you.

Domicci

great video so glad to see inhumans getting some love. cant wait for ghosts turn.

TerraTauren

I DO appreciate those new Sprites, great work Ruben! I... only paid attention to side Comics for a long time of marvel, so the only inhumans I knew were Kamala Khan and... Telekinian/Ian Soo from Kate Leth's Patsy Walker comics... I can't speak to the larger messy-ass allegory of the inhumans, but for the STREET LEVEL members, poor shmucks caught up in it, I kinda feel a bit bad about it all! They were forced into existence by editorial, writers probably had to try their best to make their narratives work, likely just... doing to them way they would have done with mutant characters, and now they're just like... "hey, allegorically we're the same as most mutants who show up, but narratively we are forever rejected" How do we even handle surviving "NuHumans"? Allegorical they make no sense either. And... the ones who aren't randomly now dead are in a weird spot. I suppose you could try to unpack and salvage them but like... it's such a tangled web now too.

Charlie Poat

Inhumans are great in a lore and worldbuilding sense to the overall Marvel (specifically the Fantastic Four/ Cosmic regions). I like the royal family characters too. But I along with anybody not name Ike Perlmutter thinks shoving the Inhumans into a X-Men rip-off is incredibly dumb (both as a narrative lens and as a business strategy).

Findlay

Blade !!!!!!!!!!!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🦇

Hound Plus

Heres to hoping they can make a comeback, I've always felt like they've had potential that just wasn't lived up to. Really hoping to see Medusa and Black Bolt in Rivals, Medusa would make such a good Tank.

Christopher Ulichney

I think the real world history of the Inhumans rivals any story of them on the printed page. Maybe some day you could do a video entirety on the real world history of some character or property.

DJ1107

Yeah that period where The Inhumans were being pushed as Temu-X-men was rough. Especially with the dumbass way they did it in-universe, Which sucks because The Inhumans so have a unique & cool lore & hopefully with them getting back into cosmic stuff we can get some good stuff out of them. Will say though the hoop jumping they did to make Kamala a Mutant & "exclusive to the X-men" was & is a ridiculous push.

OrderlySummit

With Pearlmutter being reclusive as he is, it's very telling that of the few pictures if the man there are, several show him very close with an actual nazi and a self-described fascist dictator

Holden Kodish

This was so good I genuinely did not notice 2 hours had gone by. That being said, I think there might be a glitch in the last 5-10 minutes where the video skips. Might just be my phone tho! Either way 10/10!

Sir_Superhero

Hmm, thanks for the heads up. Is there a time stamp you're seeing it at that I can check?

Darko

It’s 2 hrs!!!!🙏🏾I love the longer videos. Thank you getting me thru my graveyard shift 👌🏾

Julian Wendt

I would love to be able to get a closer look at your “spheres of marvel” chart

Sir_Superhero

It's nowhere near a comprehensive diagram 😅 I slapped that together in 15 minutes just for the visual bit, it's basically just a bunch of logos placed more or less near logos of related characters. Glad it clearly worked for the intent I was going for though!

Mitchell B

super cool vid! cool to see the full history laid out and that they had a bright future. although as a AOS fan I need some ice now for the stray geese! (even it was the right ending for the MCU...... but please let me have some hope)

Diego Montana

Saaaaame. These help get me through my shifts, keeps me laughing

Darth Nihilus

The pose for "certified good boi Lockjaw" is TOO perfect, hats off to Ruben as always

Diego Montana

Such a fun video. Pearlmutter gave real Marville energy, and the character showcases toward the end had some I wasn’t expecting to enjoy that much. As soon as you mentioned BLIND and BRAILLE I had a wicked smile. Fascinating. Quickly becoming my favorite long form media. Makes me want to rewatch for the thousandth time the video about Xemnu, o̴u̶r̷ a̷̽͜l̵̝̏l̵̺̔ ̸̟̑t̷͖͛ï̶̜m̸̮͝ē̵͇ f̶̪͠a̸̰͛v̵̎͜o̶̻̕r̸͓̚i̶͖͝t̴̖̐ȇ̷̥ s̵̳̑̇̊ṹ̸̞̩p̶̤̏̌è̸͔͉r̴̡̳̈́h̷̢̟͚̄͝ę̸͊ṙ̴͉̺͘ò̷͕͇͛̚

Petras' story is giving major trans allegory vibes, being forced through a bodily change without his consent that turns him into a monster, mirroring how a lot of trans kids experience being forced to go through the wrong puberty.

Sir_Superhero

Yeah a lot of the images from this video are screen grabs from the news. Perlmutter's political history is...well it's outside the scope of MY content but the man was a shadow official in the Trump administration for a while. It's...it's crazy.

OrderlySummit

Yeah bro's straight up on some supervillain shit

Lortep

I still love that panel from Imperial that describes Blackbolt as "genetic perfection with a voice that shakes the heavens". So hilariously over the top.

Feng Shway

While being an inhuman or a mutant honestly could’ve definitely been interchangeable in her origin early on, Kamala was definitely better as a solo inhuman than as just one of the x-men. Also “NuHuman” is one of the stupidest names I’ve heard of. Why not just call Inhumans and for specifying just call them new Inhumans? You don’t have recently emerging mutants called anything like Nutants or sth.

JohnTheBudderman

I'm conflicted on the Kamala Khan situation because it's objectively MCU Synergy, and like yeah sure the original concept was to make her a mutant but...she wasn't. Such a huge retcon that's also roped into a messy Spider-Man story and synergy is just no good for me, just because something is the original idea doesn't mean it's better.

Steve Hedge

While o agree that perlmutters push of the inhumans to punish the X-men was dumb, I feel awful that this group of characters, some I do like and do think have good stories got the brunt of the real life punishment.

Aight Griffin

As someone who used to be into power scaling, the highest tiers are for the people who can destroy entire multiverses and such. Black Bolt would probably be in the upper-mid tiers iirc

Holden Kodish

Rewatched the part it happened at last night, didn’t happen today. Weird. Either way, great video!

Maaaaaaaaaaaaaasoooooooooooooon

Getting jump scared by Kevin MacLeod's "Volatile Reaction" at 1:40:10 really hit me hard. I didn't know I could get jump scared by royalty free music

Levi Tompkins

nothing i enjoy more than someone talking shit about ike perlmutter for a couple hours. music to my ears.

King of Bad Ideas

Me before watching this video: "Oh boy, Sir_Superhero talking about the history of the Inhumans, can't wait! I love Lockjaw, he's my favorite!" Me after this video: "It is now my life's mission to kill Ike Perlmutter with my bare hands"

Reader

I did enjoy some of the inhumans that showed up during the bo X-Men run. Kinda sucks to waste characters like that but oh well

UltraStar

I've always loved moon girl and reader. I feel like cool story with a focus on moongirl and reader could go really well since you have a smart character who could play well with readers powers.

Asterism

The combination of the asexual reveal last video and the Brennan Lee Mulligan shout out this video… Sir Superhero you really are a man of culture and a paragon of the people

Dylan H

Documenting my inhumans knowledge before this video (well i'm like 15 minutes in but anyway) I could not tell you when they first appeared and would never have guessed they're older than the silver surfer, gun to my head I would have assumed 80s at the earliest. Blackagar Boltagon talks in explosions basically, Medusa has hair power, there is a dog and a guy in a hoodie. There was a TV show, something about Terragin mist, Beast is married into the family, and Ms Marvel is and is not and is kind of an inhuman? This is primarily from Crisis Protocol.

Ini Okon

So we all hate ike perlmutter right?

Kestron

Nah bro Agents of SHIELD isn't noncanon to the MCU, the MCU is noncanon to Agents of SHIELD

Joseph Gonzaga

It's so interesting how similar the Inhumans (and now Mutants) are to the Eternals. The Progenitors (and Kree race) play a similar role to the Celestials, experimenting on life through genetic augmentation. It's fascinating how it seems like, in the Marvel universe, as races grow and develop, they all turn towards genetics. The slighty darker themes reminds me of Warhammer 40k lore. Also, thank you Sir Superhero for another fantastic video! I gotta admit, I was a little nervous about this video since you'd be addressing some pretty heavy topics, but you handled it perfectly. I really do hope that a few years down the line you can make an updated video on the Inhumans rise in popularity and relevance again.

Archaeolinguist

The Inhumans as a concept are really cool, a civilization akin to the mutants living with the same fear, and dealing with it by delving deeper and deeper into genetic engineering to the point of harming themselves and their society, eventually becoming essentially xenophobic out of genuine fear rather than hatred or feeling of superiority. Also, a Moon city is just cool, I don’t have a thematic argument for that I just like the idea XD The Inhumans becoming like a Galactic Rogue State, Krakoa style to link them back to the X-Men, would be a lot of fun

Matthew Drew

One day I’d love to see a team up with merry marvelite

Solstice

Wow, what a fucking masterpiece. Bravo once again, Sir Superhero!!
