Fellow Acesexual let’s go! 👍

Ham Sandwitch

RAISE THAT (ASEXUAL) FLAG, BROTHER RGGGGGGGGGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH 💜🤍🩶🖤

TRGabrielGF

That thumbnail is hilarious, great job.

Maple Wolf

Yooo, an asexual king! I'm not asexual, but I'll always lift my asexual siblings up and support them. Y'all are awesome 🧡

Dax

Peak vine reference Also ace gang

judoboy

Oh you were NOT joking

ThiefofRPG

I need a shower after just hearing you talk about these characters

Landon

one piece fans when they hear the name of the weird baby

William

For completely non horny reasons.I like the baby genie. He has cool powers, and that's the entire reason

Stardust Breaker

“I mean just because they have weird powers doesn’t mean it’s a feti-“ (Vore dragon and cursed TF) “I stand corrected.”

Joseph McGivern

I do like Technet. If you want a weird group to fight heroes they are a very good choice. as they have unique designs, unusual and non lethal powers and a mercenary motivation. It'll always be more interesting than the Wrecking Crew, the Enforcers or anyone else you would normally use.

Dr. Parmesan

I’m lowkey obsessed with Joyboy now. Why does he look so fucking terrifying.

Reader

I mean there freaky but you can't say there not interesting.

DapperCuttlefish

Somehow the Gallifreyan thing is *weirder* than it sounds - Marvel canonized it in 2010! Until then, Special Executive being actual Gallifreyans, not just hired by them, was only ever a thing in an unofficial charity anthology. As far as I can tell they haven't been directly retconned on the Doctor Who side, but they're explicitly Loom-born, and Looms got retconned and/or were never canon and/or come from a different continuity from the TV show. It's complicated. (And has some extremely funny implications, because 2010 is weirdly late to be referencing them.) They seem to be canon to Faction Paradox, or at least as canon as anything else Faction Paradox doesn't have the license for and references anyways, but that's a whole other can of dubiously related worms.

The Dragion

YOOO ANOTHER ACE YOUTUBER (I've been collecting them by accident)

Matthew Drew

Is it just me or does gate rasher look like clown/violator from spawn?

Asterism

It’s almost impressive how, after really seeing the range of Chris Claremont’s… creativity, that he might be the one man who has every single fetish.

Domicci

great video. can't wait for ghost.

Arko Dutta

I love you robot daddy

Sir_Superhero

At least one comic implies he may be an actual demon, so...

Sir_Superhero

Thank you, it's the best visual gag I've ever gotten out of this format XD

Charlie Poat

I was thinking “How does Technet have weird undertones? I don’t remember them being that.” Like your videos and analysis (discovered you with the 2099 video) so I decided to see how you are going to argue this point (plus I am that much of an X-Men fan). Now that you broke it down, yeah. I can see what you mean. Also I would love to see you talk about Mojo and the Mojoverse. I love Longshot.

OrderlySummit

It's like if Keffotin got hired to make a Pokémon or Mario comic

Tsa

I didn't realize the term Blorbo escaped Tumblr containment already 🤣

Braystar

I love how they still have to call Bodybag that when they've just changed its powers so it can't do what its named after. Like it's such a cursed character and yet they have to use him in when they bring the group back.

Rolly

Love being introduced to a new marvel characters, even if they are... odder than most I've seen. Any thoughts in a Pet Avengers video

Steve Hedge

You know, ignoring the strange sexual characters of their personalities, technet’s powers are actually really useful for bounty hunting. They seem to involved lots of tracking and subduing enemies. Too bad their personalities are… very Claremont

TeaChaos

Wait, you're asexual as well?

rhyfu

when you explained scatterbrains ability my imediate thought was oh shes a hypno fetish character ok but then that wasn't even the weird thing you where talking about...

Matthew Drew

Soft serve poops ice cream flavors. Gotta work that into a video

TerraTauren

GAHAHAHA, I will say, innocently, my fave member was Ferro/Ferro2, because fuzzy lanky guys are hot, Nightcrawler, etc. I... like that they exist, but I feel like... Either because Marvel made him tone it down, or just how Claremont expresses his kinks, there's just... There's no WHIMSY!!! They all end up one-note and kinda boring. I think in the right hands, they could end up in a cool spot, and be salvageable characters to more widely use, but you'd kinda have to have a writer who can comfortably accept and go beyond their kink origins. Seems like most of them stop at the door, or swerve around.

Sir_Superhero

Oh yeah that one has been a general fandom term for...several years, actually!

Jenks the bard

Joyboy would be a good horror character if you removed the fetishy aspect of him. Clairemont is weird

Andrew Warman

This weird and wild content is what being a Patreon member is all about

Flimbabble

Seconded, been reading Longshot and Spiral adjacent books and I love them. Need the world to know more about that weird pocket of marvel

Mike Smith

Learning vore for the first time. And I live on the damn internet.

Steven Spencer

I know you said you didn't want anyone to tell you their favorite but I think we can all agree that hard boiled henwy is great, it's kind of like that one X-Men whose power was blowing themselves up but the fact that it's a small little chicken is funny as hell

Manaladeda

What a wild freaking ride lol! Thanks for researching all this nonsense so we don't have to🫡

Pacos601

I don't have a favorite member of Technet but I do have a least favorite Bodybag......

Velocipastor fan

This is an amazing first video to see after joining the patreon

Raptie

I love Bodybag's visual design and also her power is really neat—it's a shame they changed it. I'm not even into vore, I just think her concept is cool

Raptie

You've totally nailed it with the whole "whimsy" thing. Like, embrace and lean into it so far that it crosses the line twice and becomes fun. And give them personalities, danggit

Charlie Dayson

As a fellow ace, it's so weird to me that so much of the conversation about characters like technet (and writers like Clairmont) has this air of secretive horror, like we're supposed to be disgusted that someone would ever be motivated by attraction, when to me, I really don't see the difference between 'this character has paralysing powers because I'm into bondage' and 'this character is a chef because I enjoy cooking'. Thing elicits possitive emotions, so thing inspires creativity, seems pretty simple. Personally, I don't see anything wrong with any of technet's appearances, especially given Excalibur is a pretty clearly aimed at a solidly older teen and adult audience, but I appreciate your conclusion here being that there's nothing wrong with fetish-inspired characters as long as they're handled relatively tastefully, rather than the typical scandlised hand-wringing. If Chris Clairmont wants to write body transformation and Peter David wants to put a naked pregnant woman in every book he works on, more power to them!

Levi Tompkins

I love technet, but i am alot like claremont. And i first read Excalibur when i was like 10, take that as you will. Gatecrasher is a fun villain theres a bit where they were being employed by a town in england to use there advanced tech to make it less rainy there. From what i understand besides claremonts kinks alsn davis just loved drawing technet which is one of thecreasons they are around so much. I had a marvel xmen oromotional book when i was a kid tgat advertised alor of upcoming xmen projects and one of them was an alsn davis technet miniseries. That obviously never came to pass for whatever reason, but Davis had bigger plans for technet. I also think i disagree with your interpretation of joyboys powers. I think he really does give people what they want on some level. He just does it in ways that are inconvenient or disabling or bad ideas. I dont think sue lloves namor more than reed, i do think she has fantasized about being with him and about getting to be more impulsive and breaking out of the box people put her in. Kitty doesnt want be so fat she cant move, but ive read a few comics where kitty has been shown to be afraid of starving and far more where she was afraid of fading away like a ghost, and lord knows kate pryde likes voluptuous ladies. I think joyboy takes real fantasies and takes them inconveniently far.

Archaeolinguist

XD I kinda love Numbers and his weird Shrek-Dragon wife, what the fuck.

CZ-PC

BONDAGE BEAM GO!

Alexander Roberson

Ik you do mostly marvel things but i think dog welder from dc would be a great video as he is not as well known but batshit crazy character

Papa Aeon 7210

I don’t know, for sure some of it seems fetishy (some of these panels could have been drawn on DeviantArt) but in general I think the modern internet is really good at ascribing a “secret fetishization agenda” on older stories that didn’t even exist. Like I’m 100% certain Bodybag and Gatecrasher weren’t meant to be horny, just based on their designs.

Sir_Superhero

No no, it's definitely intentional. Were it any other writer than Chris Claremont I could see the ambiguity, but Claremont is NOTORIOUS for this kind of thing. It's a pattern too often repeated to not be intentional.

Jack Brannelly

Maybe it’s just me but… I fear you did not do the legwork to present this characters how you wanted your audience to perceive them. I wouldn’t consider myself very vanilla and yet there’s much here you describe as “horny” which doesn’t appear to be. I see how some exist in the same vague conceptual grounds as certain fetishes (Joyboy is the most explicit) but to be quite honest as far as this video presents it, it would be as viable to say Kirby had an invisibility fetish or a Rock skin fetish. Again, I’m sure you’re coming from a perspective that is clearer on the intent than I am, but I also feel that has been poorly communicated here.

Jack Brannelly

I suppose the Bodybag point is sufficient, idk.

Arlo Anderly

Was he also the guy that wrote that weird ass Ultron arc where he turned Tony Stark into a girl for some reason

Sam Lewis

Honestly I think you're just not in the fetish mines. These characters are EXTREMELY horny if you're familiar with the fetishes they're playing into.

Sam Lewis

Dog Welder is just a one-off gag without much depth. The premise is absurd, but it's trying to be absurd and there isn't really much that can be added besides what's presented at face value.

Jack Brannelly

in which case I’d still say this video is lacking in information. It’s a bizarre pre-requisite to assume all would have such familiarity with obviously niche fetishes that these characters would flag as apparently perverse. I’m sure there’s more to support the accusation that Claremont’s writing is fetish motivated but I was a bit disappointed that this video just assumed it as a given.

Jack Brannelly

Like, again, without the context it feels as easy to levy such an accusation against nearly any comic book. The silver-age Jimmy Olsen and Lois Lane series are full of bizarre transformations, and I’ve never seen them assumed to be a writer or artists fetish, even though many of them fall into the same deviantart-esque fetish tropes. Maybe I’m naive there too.

Welpt

Scatterbrain is my favourite but for actual reasons. I think it's interesting to have a very humanoid species without human intelligence. It bothers me that so many alien characters follow conventional human designs and appreciate when designs get weird, but I like that Scatterbrain takes it in the other direction.

Wyatt Jones

Why does waxworks look like a nose

cgirl7

as a massive one piece fan, hearing this freaky ass character being called joyboy is complete and total whiplash and i hate it so much, curse you sir superhero >:(

weavves

Matt. Reading X-Treme X-Men Savage Land and the character Leash is a Claremont Savage Land dominatrix-coded mutate. Her powers are mind control bondage.

DreamyDrimi

Man I got so disappointed hearing that Ferro got killed off so quick lmao, the moment I saw him I got real excited to see him sword fight with Nightcrawler!!! That would be awesome!! But oh well guess Claremont just isn't a freak for sword fights

Philipe Dallaire

I have pretty much all fetishes on earth and it still feels gross lol

john king

How are they not in a Deadpool comic!?

E-Currency

I paid to learn the lore of a robot's sexuality 😂

Patrick Wallace

"Huh a video on chris clairemonts weird fetishes thisll be neat" "hey i didnt know sir superhero was ace too, let me check the comments" i guess there was a meeting and im half a year late to it lol

Matt Schumacher

My favorite is Gatecrasher bc we need more plus size women representation in comics. Besides the little guy on her back, you could change nothing about her character and she would work as a straight-forward badass mercenary type.

Max A Million

Oh no I think I'm obsessed with them. I love freak art so much what a wild group of characters

daredevil fan

My favorite member is the second dude with four arms. It's honestly so funny that the replacement is just the other guys name squared

Arnout Matthew Andrews

You want an overhaul? No, no, no. Keep them exactly the same but make them horror antagonists.

Curt Clark

This is basically where I landed. I've been an X-Men fan, and a Claremont fan specifically, for most of my life. I'm also a gay man with ties to the furry community, some of the kinkier sides of which make Claremont's work look downright MILD. Claremont writes (and Alan Davis usually draws where the Technet are concerned) within the age range of the comic he's trying to sell. The stuff he comes up with in Excalibur IS usually creative, and interesting, and fun, even if it's sometimes very obviously sanitized fetish material. I think the Technet are weird as hell. But it's the good kind of weird that comic books are better for embracing.

Tsukiakari1203

Scatterbrain is a loomborn Gallifreyan as well. Surprised you didn't cover the Special Exective since they predate Technet publication wise but also are Technet's future. And are the one's with the Doctor Who ties and are Alan Moore creations. Then you could've included Wardog, Cobweb, Zeitgeist, Sextant, Legion, Havanner and Lady Burning Fish.

Tsukiakari1203

i love Scatterbrain's design. It's gorgeous. she feels like a human cat to me. i bet she is cat-smart but Gatecrasher thinks everyone is dumb so just assumes Scatterbrain has nothing going on

Tsukiakari1203

in Doctor Who everything is canon via time always shifting, no Doctor Who media has ever been explicitly retconned. so i say Technet are still Gallifreyan but from a different universe which is true anyway since they are tied to the Captain Britain Corps and that's multiverse related.

Tsukiakari1203

Gatecrasher has a romance arc with Rocket in that Al Ewing Rocket Raccoon miniseries!

Tsukiakari1203

if anyone wants a 4 hours and 40 minutes deep dive on Technet, the Cerebro podcast did one with Jadzia Axelrod that was really fascinating.

Bob Mcgrob

...The issue is, I want to like these characters, because I feel like all of these could work if they were played for horror directly. Like, Waxworks has some of the Sleepwalker Variant Cover "dont use Warp Gaze On People" potential, Scatterbrain...Ok I got nothing for her. Same with Bodybag. but Joyboy especially could work if his transformations were played for more body horror. Like, wishing you had a friend you lost here with you...so you grow a second head that resembles them. He, specifically, I feel has alot of potential...but this history means that using him is always kind of going to be weird.

Fishdragon

so this is how i find that sir_superhero is a fellow asexual

Boohawk

Uh... okay, cool. Gonna pretend like I didn't see most of those panels. And I'm gonna stick with the, uh, other Joyboy, in that one manga, thanks.

Max Kim

Im not naturally squeamish but this shit is too freaky for me to listen to even in my car alone with the windows fully up

Clayton McCandless

I love the Ben 10 shootout! I wish it was used in a less... suggestive way, but Bodybag would be perfect for a transformation: strong visuals, unique abilities, even a good name. It would be fun to see this guy or the same species in a weird space book or something.

3 Cat Day

Okay so kid me bought the Excalibur comics because my sister loved Lockheed. Looking back that was a poor choice.

Obnoxas

100% using this as a reading list because the description of Chris Claremont's run on Excalibur as "a wild roulette wheel of insane kinks" is also a very apt description of my personality.

Stephen Mountford

Oh! Another ace guy! Nice. I really can't understand how any of this is fetishistic, but I've been on the internet for a while so I can accept it is if you say so.

Finalsaurus

Favorite member is Thug. Cool visual, just likes to fight. Seems pretty straight up.

Welpt

How?

Taylor Miller

AH JOY BOY! One of my favorite weirdos from Canon Clash! And Henwy too! Its my lucky day!

Taylor Miller

Am I the only one who thinks Gate Crasher looks like that clown guy from the Spawn movie?

AMS_Lance

Nothing prepared me for when I started reading Claremont's X-Men where before/leading up to the Dark Phoenix Saga half the X-Men get caught by Magneto and forced into a catatonic captured state to act like babies as revenge for when the X-Men turned him into a baby and left him on Muir Island. They can't talk, they get fed by a robo-nanny, Wolverine has spit up, and it's implied they essentially sit on toilets. Genuinely made me shudder and was shocked it was right before/between one of the most important comic arcs of all time (not to mention covers 2 issues). Knowing the extent of his range of fetish references just in Technet, I'm looking back on some of those weird X-Men moments with a bit more... scrutiny.

eman5112

HOLY SHIT I ACTUALLY KNOW THESE GUYS!!! I read the Rocket Solo series where they show up and do heist shit with Rocket

MaxZaps Gaming ZepZeap

I feel like of all the characters Ringtoss visually looks the coolest in their weird little spacesuit thing and hey their powers are probably the most palatable to general audiences. If Wonder Woman can get away with it, why not So why is it that Ringtoss basically doesn’t matter at all? You mentioned them once at their introduction and never again I just want my weird spacesuit dude

Szymon Nowicz

scatterbrain is my favorite, I like her design

herobrineharry

It’s 2026 and we can’t have “SFW endosoma vore” and “internet puppygirl with magic drug powers” as supervillains anymore??? Woke has gone mad

2-Way_Intersection

I think the difference is that sex, for like 99.9% of people, is kinda personal. Like, sure, some people (like myself, admittedly) are more willing to openly discuss sex and sexual topics than others but even horny bastards like myself have a line. Its one thing to have a group chat that you and a bunch of friends openly talk abt your kinks in, thats not only fine i think its good. Its another when those fetishes are put on full display for everyone to see whether they asked or not I like to use the harley quinn fart comic as a good example of fetishes being in places they shouldn't be. If someone just made that on their own as a fan work, whatever, i respect that. But as a paid product sold next to normal comics? Yeah, its just kinda off putting.

2-Way_Intersection

Im reading the comma in "no, technet november" in the same way as that one simpsons clip.

2-Way_Intersection

Not to mention a lot of these arent even, like, that far removed from how these kinks are handled by artists today. Ive never heard of technet before this, but save for scatterbrain who's definitely original (though i have encountered the elements that make her character up), i have seen basically all of these characters in some form before. Just not in published works

2-Way_Intersection

Still less weird than the harley quinn fart comic tbh

sidney failure

“[ferro] does not seem to have any sexual undertones” i mean he does have four arms………
