383 - No More Boosty. (Patreon)

HELLO there dear bros! How is everyone doing? Ready for another Monday Post? To be honest, I don't even know why am I asking you this every time, because OF COURSE YOU ARE!! ^_^

BAD NEWS. My account on boosty got nuked. I created it several month ago to give my Russian bros a chance to support me. And it was going OK, didn't have too many subscribers there, but it was definitely better than nothing. Anyway, long story short, apparently NSFW stuff is not allowed on Boosty. I had no idea, because I could swear I did see some adult artists there. To be honest I did not bother to read the user agreement, so this is partially my fault. But at the same time completely nuking an account instead of a warning or a temporary suspension is a bit too harsh IMHO.

NIGHTFIRE. Finally decided to give Nightfire a try and right away regretted not doing it much sooner. What a game! Every mission is full of action and hot chicks! An it looks and plays marvelously on my SteamDeck :) LUMINOUS ARC. Despite my current obsession with James Bond, Luminous Arc remains the main game I play at the moment. Since I am late to the party (the game was released 18 years ago), I have the luxury of playing the UNDUB rom, so I can confirm that during the voiced scenes the translation is more or less on point. That being said a certain level of "localization" is definitely there, especially with Mel who sometimes just says random nonsense instead of what she was supposed to be saying in Japanese.

SHOP. I uploaded another oldie but goodie to the shop: a comic commission from a very long time ago. The adventures of April and Lara continue. Go check it out. ^_^THE WORK. I have nothing exciting to report on the work front. Basically just forging ahead. I like how things are shaping out so far, though. Wtf? I support a pair of artists in Boosty and I swear they're Nsfw, maybe it's a recent thing? Or they don't put anything risky and I never noticed, mysterious indeed. Glad you had a good week, hope it's not too hot over there

Sad news about Boosty, but it's their loss, not yours. Clearly they couldn't handle greatness in pixel form... Bond got boring, but then I grew up with Moore and Connery as Bond, James Bond. (Why did I here that with Connery's accent) Old school games are still fun to revisit and with steam OS now matching or beating windows on laptop and pc for FPS. Things can only get better.

I have no idea. I have a feeling it's some kind of misunderstanding, but today I contacted the support again, asking them directly if there is a chance of getting my account unbanned, and got a very direct reply, basically saying that there is no chance in hell. -_-

Yeah. And to me old games are not "still fun to revisit", it's the only games that make me smile and deliver fun and exciting emotions. If not for the emulation (or straight up purchasing old consoles and games online), I would have probably given up on video games all together by now.

Boosty is a japanese site, so work on there is supposed to be censored even if it's downloadable. A lot of artists figured out clever ways to skirt the restriction, usually by making the download process a pain in the ass for the staff so they don't check the files.

I know a couple people on Boosty and they say it's a very weird platform because it's Japanese in origin, so they have screwy censorship laws to follow. The nuke is rather harsh though. I didn't think they were doing THAT well.

Sucks that your Boosty got nuked, it feels like more and more services are doing their best to be as user unfriendly as possible. Can’t wait for the Reporter Trainer, I’m sure it will be a banger as always. Glad you enjoy some good old games as well my man. Yeah... I am considering giving Boosty another try, maybe in a few month. As for the sanctions, by then I could be banned from Patreon (god forbid), or something else could happen, you never know. But as long as I keep on working and you guys keep supporting me (one way or another), I believe we all will unlock out true ending one day XD

Yeah... I realize now that I should have done my research on boosty instead of just assuming things. Still I think flatout bans like that on websites that handle people's money is a wrong thing to do.

Sort of. I mean the events of Queen Trainer take place right after the season 01 and Reporter Trainer was planned as first episode of season 2, but than I decided to do a proper April training game instead. I mean, I love the StarChannel setup but it puts pretty heavy restraints on the character development options.
