Did you deliberately static out the footage for copyright reasons or did it not render correctly?

Np, still a great reaction - "Pay me what you owe!" LOL - Lakan was pretty tragic overall, he didn't know she was alive, because the old lady just said she was "gone" so he thought she was dead. It's really touching how his face blindness let's him see her as he remembers her, not disfigured by the syphilis. 😢

omg, him seeing her exactly as she'd been when they met?? SOBBING

Funny that the 3 series you guys are reacting to right now are all based on novels (MT, slime, and this.) I'd say over all this one was adapted very well. I'm a little bit past where I think S2 would end in the books, but the series is actually quite complex. I often have to go back and re-read some parts to understand better. I think the studio did a fantastic job with this.

She was a virgin until she slept with Lakan. She cut off one of her fingers and Maomao's pinky. The tip of it anyway, and the old lady told him Fenxien is gone. That is why he thought she was dead. Meimei indeed still loves Fenxien, but it must have been bittersweet for her to open that door because I think she also loves Lakan. I can confirm that if you cut the tip of a fingers off that it will grow back. 10 years ago I cut about 1/3 of my left thumb. 99% of it including 1/3 of my thumbnail came back. It's slightly smaller than my right thumb but can only notice it when I put them side by side
