Demeter's Reign Recommendations (Patreon)

Springtime... ! Season of fertility, growth, fruition. I can smell it in the air, see it in the bloom.

Reconnecting with past lives & blossoming into new ones.

A good time to create art and perform romantic gestures.

Repairing relationships, reconstituting old ones, bold brave choices! Stay in alignment!

It's been busy but beautiful & I'm so relieved to finally be in my own space. my creative energy is flowing uninhibited once more. talking to God properly & regularly again.

((Zoom Town Hall on May 31 at 4:30pm EST. will remind u))

First an interview Article of me:

CJ The X Is Yearning for a Better Internet - Read Only Magazine

Took this interview for ReadOnly Magazine in London. Whole site very KTi coded i encourage you to check it out, Mimi who interviewed me and runs the thing was an impressive person.

ONE BOOK:

Keith Johnstone's book Impro is really swinging me around by the hair in a way that makes me grateful & soft & fascinated.

I am finding there is no way to select excerpts from this incredibly rich and relatively short book because its just pages and pages of beautiful humanity and beautiful experience and precise thoughts that makes me giggle and swoon and speak to my subconscious.

If you are interested in education, imagination, creativity, this book is absolutely riveting. Spoken with such grace and guile. It focuses on the world of theatre and improv "comedy" but soars and dives to all different depths and is really a bizarre and revealing beam of light to shine thru your brain. High recommend however you can get your hands on it.

TWO TIK TOK ACCOUNTS:

That's right!!! Tik Tok!!!!! I am being magnanimous and inclusive of the many of u who use Tik Tok while being quiet about it when i'm around.

Why do I suddenly have a passing tolerance for Tik Tok? Because of nepotism of course!

@lila.ravelle

One of my best friends Lila Ravelle has been makign some magical fairy princess aesthetic vignettes there scored by her music, and I believe in her as an artist (&mastered her EP) so I wanted to share it with anyone else who will be as charmed by it as I am.

Having watched her cultivate this space & these objects & these sounds for years it so tickles me to see her resonating with others.

Here.  Are.  Three.

@joshczuba

Josh Czuba makes tight inspirational videos designed to 'humanize the internet.'

Mimi from ReadOnlyMag also interviewed him!

(idk if its me getting older or its just the spiritual vibes of the universe but I'm finding that self help isn't all so bad)

THREE SHORT ART VIDEOS:

1. @LITTLE.SOUNDS - TUNE THE WURLITZER

This is another friend (nepotism! <3) who earlier this year released a lovely EP that i did not master but enjoyed nonetheless! Ambient analogue synth music. pretty noises.

This video of him delicately tuning a Wurlitzer keyboard filled me with tranquil emotion & if you are a musician or a gear person or just a person who likes passion and precision you may enjoy this soothing experience.

2. Calibrating

Unlisted video because this is a personal project by someone I personally met in Toronto! I asked for permission to share because I was thinkin about it again with the heat and skin and tenderness seeping into my universe.

Teeming yearning intimate video about physical touch experiments to do w lovers / friends to feel like a hotblooded heart beating bodies together (if ur brave)

3. tell yo n****s you love them

Touching 1 minute poem/shortfilm by Arrick Wilson that completely randomly came to me through my recommendations on YouTube. Was touched by the simplicity & beauty.

FOUR LONGER PERFORMANCE VIDEOS:

1. JACK CONTE - DEATH OF THE FOLLOWER

Wonderful presentation by Jack Conte, artist and CEO of Patreon (the site you're on, my livelihood). Heavily cites the 1000 True Fans essay by Kevin Kelly which you'll recognize from You Are Not A Gadget, and does a great job of demonstrating some of the principles and convictions and insight that has allowed Patreon to really work for a lot of creators. Also just good insights and elements to be thinking about when navigating online.

2. WHY AI IS DOOMED TO FAIL THE MUSICAL TURING TEST

Adam Neely is a good guy doing good stuff & this is an interesting conversation about art process vs. art objects and non-artists trying to "solve the problem of [insert art medium]" instead of understanding the community and craft and meaning of the different disciplines, with some good humble transformative & meaningful appreciation for an AI tune at the end.

Also features more Jack Conte! In his ever creative & enterprising spirit.

3. KENDRICK LAMAR - COUNT ME OUT

Kendrick music videos always inspire me but this one in particular has been bringing me to tears regularly for the last few months.

4. AND, OF COURSE

I mean ladies and gentlemen and they&thems does it have to be said

Jenny just slamming her Quality/Business/Art mind into Disney's Star Wars Hotel with her absolute clarity and whimsy.

At one point she says that she has "one of the best personalities in the world" and I know she's joking but she might actually be correct about that if we are being entirely honest

You have 3 seconds to guess my favourite part 3 2 1 you guessed it it's this.

That's all for now, more to be released & announced this week. Stay well blow a kiss to the sky if you see it out.
