Good distillation about what works about the show (I like the idea of it as a dialectic on the meta and in-universe level). I can't remember how many seasons I watched, at least four-- I liked it okay, the chemistry between Roiland's chaos and Harmon's order is totally there and the best aspect of the show-- I just feel like everything I liked in R&M was better executed in Adventure Time (as far as just my own sensibilities). Similar ideas (toxic traits and relationships to parental figures), existential weirdness, similar origami of sincerity and humor ... just waaaaay less crass and mean (crassness and meanness aren't bad, I just get tired of people identifying that as what makes the show adult-- just a turn off for me personally). Also that Ira Glass quote and the beginning changed my life the first time I heard it. As an ADHD person who struggles with perfectionism, outsider art (Henry Darger and his 15k illustrated tome) is what got me creating-- actually, the underground comic creators I found via Adventure Time were a big influence, too. AT and R&M are weirdly inseparable in my mind that way. Very chaotic energy.

I'm glad you stopped to eat something even if it was small. (sorry, I'm probably projecting.)
