It gets a lot of flack from the fandom, but it's still got some of the absolute best storytelling I've ever seen in my life. I really really love these episodes of Season 8, especially episodes 2 & 3. Brienne being knighted was such a delightful scene! <3 Podrick singing beautifully while we watch all these different characters, Sansa & Theon, Grey Worm & Missandei... I was literally shaking while watching this, fearing the Army of the Dead! Women and children being directed towards the crypts to be safe... Jon and Dany having the conversation about Lyanna and the truth about Jon... AND then BOOM, here THEY are!!! :o :o :O The White Walkers and their army are HERE at Winterfell!! This is not a spoiler - the Great War is here and you are about to witness it, Hannah. The next episode is I think the longest GoT episode ever. Folks have already told you, it's called "The Long Night" so you may want to adjust brightness on your screen to see it a bit better, or just be prepared to get encapsulated by the single most important battle in the history, because... it's between the Living and the Dead! The episode came out at 3 am in my country, and I stayed up to watch it, all alone, in my room and in darkness... I don't remember sweating that much and feeling quite that way (super excited, but super anxious) any other time in my life.

Also, for next week, adjust your screen to full brightness!! The episode is so dark (visually and emotionally) you won't see shit otherwise. Some will say it's part of the intended experience: confusion, fear, etc etc. But for a reaction maybe best if you understand what is going on. haha

I loved season 8 too! There’s a lot of us, the haters are the loudest tho lol. Keep faith and enjoy it! It’s a wild wild ride to the end. IMO got was such an impactful world shaking show, the expectations were almost unattainable to have everyone like it. Watching it years later even gave me a greater love of the whole story front to back. That said, I’m slightly worried about you next episode but it’s incredible. 💙

I think a lot of the season 8 haters are more of the original watchers who had to wait a long time for it to come out and they all came up with their own ways it needed to go. When it didn’t go their way (like surprise it’s GOT duh) they all whine for eternity. As someone who watched it without needing to wait, I didn’t see the issues everyone else did. It all worked for me. I love it.

This is one of my favorite episodes of the show, even if it is in the most controversial season. -For whatever reason, Sansa and Theon get me. Yara knowing her brother is sea AND snow and would want to fight for his, essentially other sister. Theon and Sansa sitting together and having a final drink in the snow before it begins gets me the most. They've just been through so much of the same. -Jamie knighting Brienne and Pod's song with the drinking buddies is perfection. Only missing Bronn. Also enjoyed the brother moment we got. -Arya and Hound sitting with each other and giving each other shit is such a nice callback. They're, weirdly, probably the best things to have happened to one another. -Davos and Gilly with the little girl with the scarred face is also heartbreaking, as they both were really Princess Shireen's only friends. It's also interesting that in this episode, two heirs reveal their bloodline to their love interest. The son of Rhaegar Targaryen and the son of Robert Baratheon. Idk, I just love this episode. An emotional one.

What makes it even sadder when the little girl is in the soup line wants to fight like her Brothers, is that fact that she reminds Ser Davos about Princess Shireen, due to the scars on her face. 😢

I have listened to Podrick sing that song a hundred times. I couldn't believe he belted that song out so well. However, you should listen to "Florence and the Machine" sing "Jenny of Oldstones" (this song), because it is incredible, and she dedicates the song to Arya. This Episode is very emotional, especially with the music.
