This weekend I've finished the spell casting minigame from last week. But the observant among you might have noticed it didn't come with the usual video that accompanies all finished minigames. There's a reason for it.

The code is done and functioning, but I have this idea for spell effects that can elevate the minigame to a whole another level.

I had plans to explore creating particle effects in renpy at some point, and it would be it's own separate code. But this is a good opportunity to enhance this minigame with visual effects like that, and I'll be trying it next week. It would look much better than just telling the character what spell was cast.

The code is in the attachments if you want to give it a try

I absolutely love this, but how could it be modified so that the player could add the center rune themselves instead of randomly?

I was thinking to let them discover spells that they don't find throughout the game through experimentation as Easter eggs. The spells that they cast otherwise would be situational. (For example a spell to reveal secret doors which of course does nothing if there is no secret door in the scene.)
