Progress Log 7/6/22 - Rhythm Game Framework Complete, Moving on to the Human World! (Patreon)
Content
Progress has been tremendous recently and we’re ready for another progress log.
Finalized Rhythm MiniGame Core Functions
The framework for the rhythm mini game is done and Rosaria has been fully implemented.
She’s got 3 complete dances and 2 special cutins that appear when activating fever mode.
The cut ins will be available in the gallery later on so that players can view them at their leisure.
Along with this, she also has a victory and a failure pose for when a song is completed or failed respectively.
Easy Mode Implemented
Don’t fret! Easy mode is here.
You can toggle the difficulty when selecting a song if you think that the default difficulty is too much to handle. We also added an option to disable the full screen dance cutins if they are too distracting and you’re trying to just play the song.
From here on out, it's just a matter of adding more songs and characters to the rhythm game as we work on their routes.
Original Cast, Improved Concepts
With the rhythm mini game completed, we’re moving on to completing the full dialogue portraits of the original cast in the human world.
The girls have received some design changes in the latest round of concept art and Doku is currently working on Sophie’s portrait. Here is a WIP.
We decided to keep her original hair because it fits her too well and we’d be fixing something that isn’t broken. Sophie fans rejoice.
Overworld Map and Inkarnate
The overworld map has proven to be difficult, but we found a tool that seems promising!
Inkarnate is generally used for creating maps for table top RPGs, but their pro plan allows commercial use. We’re currently looking into using this to facilitate the process of creating a map of the underworld for players to navigate, stay tuned for more info on this!
That’s all for now!
