Who is keeping these manufacturers in business? I'm curious if they're all made in the same factory and just packaged under different brands. It's more common than you think. Notice how the cans themselves look identical and its only the paper labels that are different? And you checked all the labels and they recipes muat be similar. If they're a semi-batch process they can just change the ingredients or ratio slightly and change the lot number, slap a different paper label on it (distributors usually specify labels for marketing reasons) and sell it to a different distributor. That's the only way I can imagine a canning factory actually being able to stay in business making this... "food" (Source: I actually work in a factory that does this kind of stuff, US based). It's so adorable when you ramble on about anything. So fun to watch. I didn't even know canned mac and cheese existed, I get mine from a box lol. Glad to know I'm not missing out on anything. Here is a tip when taste testing things if you plan to do another of these. Not that it might have helped since they were all terrible but you need to drink water between them to reset your pallet. Also with smelling, you use vanilla extract. That way everything doesn't taste and smell the same.

You are a braver person that me, Phas. I am kind of curious if you have boxed mac and cheese over there similar to the Kraft Mac N Cheese. I'd be curious to know how those fair compare to the canned "Macaroni Cheese" that you just showed us. I'm partial to the Kraft one. I'm not a huge fan of homemade macaroni and cheese. Of course, I'm not a big fan of cheese in general so that might have something to do with it. xD

As someone who grew up on Kraft Dinner (KD here in Canada, also owned by Heinz), I have never had mac and cheese that didn't come out of a box, so this video was intriguing.

You know you are hard-up for grown up conversation when you spend 36 minutes and 22 seconds listening to an incredibly in depth and rather horrifying comparison of crappy canned Mac cheese instead of sleeping purely because the person speaking is not in the "10 and under" crowd and is neither talking incessantly about Minecraft while trying to smuggle sweets up to her room, or petulantly refusing to climn down off of (insert some gravity defying locarion here) and then screaming in impotent rage because I would not allow him to stuff an entire half sandwich into his maw at one time. While I won't get that time back, at least I can say "ah yes, I, a very adultg adult, doing adult stuff, indulged in a hobby and/or mental stimulation after the kids were asleep". I just hope no one asks for specifics...
